Is it Monday...already!!

It still amazes me at how fast the weekends fly by  -- but then again, it seems like every day flies by lately and that's not good!  Especially since Fall will be here soon and then then the dreaded Winter follows and this girl is NOT a fan of Winter and the cold....Brrr!  I dread it and it's the worst weather for Fibro, which makes it even worse for me!  YUK!    I am much more a Summer girl and I also love Spring and Fall.
Today, I started my day by head over to the SALE a Pez-a-doodle Designs and picked up some great deals.  Marti has made the decision to close her store and has put everything on sale.  If you are in need of some supplies, hop on over and check out her deals.
I'm here now to post a card I finished up last night and it was created for the Paper Scraps challenge over at SSC.  This week's challenge was to create a card using homemade spiral flowers.  If you have never tried them, they are very easy and fun to make and you can find an easy tutorial HERE!  For a different look you can use deco edge scissors to cut your spirals.  They also look best when made with double sided paper.
Because this is a scrap challenge, my card, (all except the base), was created entirely from my scrap bin.  I used a Tim Holtz die to cut the large red background flower and also the black/white flower.  Then, I realized I did not have enough red to make my spiral flower, so I simply used a dark pink, and then sprayed it red with my Copic ABS.  That is a wonderful benefit of having the Air Brush, perfect for this card.  I hand cut my leaves and stem from green scraps and used a border punch to create a little ground area.

My next card is for the new Freebie Digi Challenge over at Crafter's Digital Arts Center.    Several of the digi designers donated images for this challenge and you may chose whichever one you prefer and make a card for the challenge.  It's also a great way to find new designers and the group is full of free digis, tutorials, videos and so much much.  I chose this wonderful 'Pumpkin' image which was donated by Stef Hughes and this is the card that I created with her wonderful image.

And my last card for today, was created for with several challenges in mind and it's also going to be one of my Christmas Cards.  I've been trying to get a nice head start on my cards and I love it when I can work it into a challenge.   My card was created with an adorable digi image from Pink Cat Studio.  This cute is Lily with Hot Cocoa and I have used her in many cards.  If you would like to add her to your digi collection, you can find her HERE!

This card is being submitted to the following challenges:

  14. Hi Lisa! It's been a while since I've visited blogs and I'm trying to catch up today by updating mine and reading all my followers blogs. I love your cards and your blog. But unlike you I hate the summer! My favorite season is the fall! Love the crisp air and the color changes.
See you at SQC! By the way, I would love to see an SQC badge on your side bar!

  15. Hi Girls - I want to THANK you all for all the LOVE you shared on my blog.

I try to get over to all the blogs, but some days I admit, I do not make it. Other days, when my Fibro is flaring...typing is not a good thing...! But please know, I truly appreciate you ALL very much!!

A Little About Me

My Photo
Northeastern, Massachusetts, United States
Purple is my favorite color and ironically - Purple is the Awareness Ribbon color for Fibromyalgia, an illness I personally live with. I had to stop working in 2006 due to Fibro and Degenerative Disc Disease. It's been a tough road at times, but I have a wonderful family and fantastic friends. I am a Mom to two awesome sons (Ages 21 and 26) and a wife and friend to a wonderful Hubby. We live in a tiny coastal community in Massachusetts and have lived here all my life. My hubby and my boys are my whole world and mean every thing to me! I cherish all three of my guys!! I am very lucky to be blessed with wonderful friends. I adore and cherish each of my friends as much as my family! I am an avid card-maker and love all types and stamping, and also love coloring with my Copics. I'm very lucky to have this whole new world on online friends that I've met through my Craft Groups. HUGS TO YOU ALL!!
