Took a Tim Holtz Class Yesterday!!

...Well it was actually a class using all of Tim's latest new "Distress Inks" and learning how to use the inks to make cool backgrounds for cards!   However, this was NOT taught by Tim, but by one of his "biggest fans" and was excellent!  I learned lots of cool ideas!   Everything we used in class was from his line or from Ranger!
    The class was at my LSS "Absolutely Everything" and Kate (the owner),  taught it.  As I said before, she's a huge Tim Holtz Fan and he comes to the store generally one weekend each year and teaches several classes.  I HOPE that maybe the next time he comes, I can get in to one of the classes.  I do like his NEW embossing folders and his new papers too and I finally bought one of his "tiny attachers", which is a wonderful mini stapler that I love.
    I had a nice day, just to be out again and I met Dianna there and we took the class together, which was fun. It's been a long time since we've taken a class, so it was NICE to see her.  I also did some shopping and was thrilled to find that Kate is now carrying Magnolia Stamps, another brand called Northwood and had a whole bunch of awesome new products in the store.  I bought some new stamps, papers, distress inks and more!  Overall a nice day!
    These are the four cards we made in class!  We also used all 12 of the newest "Distress Ink" colors in the backgrounds for the four cards along with various inking techniques!  I do think these cards are very unique and that his cards are definitely good "Male" cards.   Alex liked them ALL and said I should try more "out of the box" ideas...LOL!

    I really learned a lot and creating these cool backgrounds was really fun.   I already have all of the supplies I need for this, so I plan to use these new techniques more often and did buy a few more of the new colors to have for coloring too!!

Just Magnolia - Birthday Challenge!!

  Today has been such a nice day!  It's been a great "craft" day and I have finally had some time to craft and catch up on some of my favorite challenges.   And this  is one of my favorites and one I try to participate in every week.  This week the challenge is to make a "Birthday Card" over at the "Just Magnolia Challenge Blog"!  If you want to join in - Please go here, to find all the details - Look for Week 44 - Birthday Challenge.

   I LOVE Magnolia images and that is another reason this is one of my favorite challenges.  This week I chose to use "Jam Tilda" and colored her all in shades of Pink.  I also choose a light tan background cardstock from my Bazzill Swiss Dots collection and some matching pink/brown cardstock from My Mind's Eye.  This is my card that I'm submitting for the challenge --

   This turned OUT to be one of my favorite cards this week and I think the reason I really like it so much, is because of the wonderful mine Prima Roses.   I added one for "Tilda" to hold and another as a simple embellishment.  I adore these sweet little roses and they have quickly become one of my favorite new embellishments.  Don't you LOVE THEM!  I think they are so pretty and add the perfect touch to cards, especially Magnolia cards!   I buy my from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design and I can highly recommend her store and have always had a wonderful experience, when shopping with Susana!   She has some wonderful stamp lines and lots of fabulous embellishments too!  If you like these adorable Prima Roses, you and find them in lots of wonderful colors in here store and the prices are awesome too!   Please click here and this link will take you directly to the Prima Roses!  You can also find other Prima embellishments as well as some new Prima Stamps too!!   I am a huge Prima fan and think that Susana has a nice selection to choose from.   These Purple mini's are my absolute favorite, but I do have many of the  the other colors and I also really like the new Cameo Roses too!    They are all gorgeous and really can be used in many ways!  ENJOY!

   I'm off now to help hubby finish making dinner and then will be spending the rest of the day, picking up and resting. I'm beat now, but had a great day and a lot of fun with my challenges!!

  PS:  Speaking of Magnolia Stamps - my LSS is now carrying them, which is wonderful for me.  I can finally buy them locally and won't have to pay shipping and can get them so much faster too!  Kate(the owner) already had the new Magazine and servery of the newest images, so that was cool.  I bought two new images yesterday and it will be awesome to get them here!  She already has a second order in, as they are already a huge hit!   She also will be offering new classes soon, which are all about Magnolia Images and coloring them with Copics!  WooHoo!  I can't wait!

Christmas Card Challenges!!!

   I am really happy that I found some of the wonderful "Christmas Card" Challenge blogs and it's been very helpful in keeping me on track with making at least one card each week.  I know when Christmas coming rolling around this year, I am gong to be one very happy girl to have so many cards ALL done!! YIPPEE!!
   This week I created two cards and this first one if my "TREE" card for the Bah! Humbug!.  I created my card with a little "twist" on my interpretation of "Tree"  by using this adorable Digi Image from Pink Cat Studio.  This image is "Itty Bitty Betty" and she is dressed as a "Christmas Tree".  I LOVE this stamp and will think it makes a really cute and whimsical card.

   If you like Christmas Challenges, please be sure to hop on over the the Bah! Humbug! Challenge Blog and join in the FUN!
  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I also made a second card today for another Christmas Card Challenge and this one is "Susan & Vikki's Christmas Club" and you and this week they are on Challenge # 6 - Girly Christmas, which you can find HERE!    I also knew this would be a fun challenge and for this card I used another Digi Image from the Pink Cat Studio, and this one is called - Lily with Hot Cocoa.  It's another of my favorites and I colored Lily with my Copics in various shades of Pink and then added a lot of "Glitter" to make her sparkle!  I think using both Pink and Glitter, makes this a very Girlie Girl card and she was FUN to make!
    I had a lot of FUN with both of these cards and I am submitting them both to the challenges today.  Next, I'm off too "Simon Say Stamp" for a Color Themed Challenge and then too "Just Magnolia" for a Birthday Card Challenge.  I LOVE challenges and really have a ton of fun joining them!!
   I'll be back later to post those cards too!  :)
Trying to catch up....after our wind storm..!!
....We had a horrible WIND storm on Thursday night after a day of rain.   I had missed the weather report and had NO clue, but I really don't think even the weather people had ANY clue how bad it was going to be.  The strongest winds I've ever heard in my life and I've lived her ALL my life...!  It was a sleepless night and really scary at times...
We lost power by about 10:30 PM,  Thursday night and ours came back on during the night last night (Friday)!  But, even that 24 hours was awful...but again, we lucked out, as many are still without power and could be for days?  Yikes!!    We had wind gusts to almost 90 MPH, the highest I think they said were about 86 MPH....numerous power outages and trees are down all over our area...it was BAD!!  I'm trying to catch up after have no power, phone, computer, internet or even cell service for well over 24 hours...it was NOT FUN!!  No cooking, no hot water, no hot shower...no morning coffee....it was NOT pleasant.  Luckily, DH did work and they never lost power??   Schools were all canceled and eventually Alex and I went out for Coffee and went back out in the afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner.  By 5pm it was dark again and we ALL went to bed "bored" early last night...!   It was a wonderful surprise to wake up early this morning to find out the power was on!  YIPPEE!!   LOL!
Hopefully, tomorrow will be even better and I can craft again and get back on track....I'm off to bed and in pain today...but hoping extra sleep with help!
Thanks to everyone who thought of me...we did not have any damage, other than some spoiled food and a bit of damage to our fence, but that can be fixed with some extra support!  It was very SCARY I am happy we are ALL okay......we were lucky!!
Hugs to all...
Copic Colour Challenge....
   Today is another lousy rainy day, but rainy days are always better then snowy days and perfect for spending time in my craft room!!   I have been workiing on a card all afternoon for the Copic Colour Challenge and this week is Challenge 53!  These are the Copic Colors you need to use on you submission --
  And if you do NOT have the exact colors, the idea is to pick colors what are close.  I don't have YG03, (it's on my WISH LIST), but I do have Y17 and C7 and I picked two green colors which I blended to create a green color that came out pretty close to YG03.   I found this cute digi image this morning and I thought it would make a cute card and this was my first attempt for the challenge --
...But, to me...it seems like it's missing something, and I decided to put this aside and started another card and this is the one that I decided to submit to the challenge!  .
    ....But I had to admit, I'm not overly thrilled with this one either.  Nothing is working out quite right, aAnd if I had more time and energy, I would even make one more...but I'm way to tired and I think the bigger issues is my camera and the "photographer" -- ME!!  I've been having a terrible time with my card pictures lately and no matter how much I try different settings and editing them in Picasa, I'm still not thrilled with how they look.  The colors are NOT right?  I seem to have this issue more, when I have to use a flash...like on dark cloudy days...like today!   I really think I'm going to buy a photography light tent package to use for my card pictures, so they will look a lot more like they do "in person".  I'm waiting for my friend Cindy to let me know how she likes hers.   She found a seller on eBay who offers quite a few different sizes and sets and the prices are really good.   If she finds she really like how it works, then I think I will order one to try!
   Now...I am feeling wiped out and this is the time of day when I seem to always run out of energy..this is when Fibro takes over and the fatigue sets in!  Grrrrrrrrr!   I'm done with cards for the day...and tonight I am simply going to try and catch up with emails, relax and go to bed early!    I did NOT sleep well last night, so today I'm more tired then normal!   I think a day of sunshine would help everyone feel better and I HOPE we have one soon.   Although I'm happy we don't have snow...we are now under a flood watch from all this rain and that is NOT good either.  I think this has been a LONG winter for a whole LOT of people and We ALL need SPRING!  THINK SPRING!!
Another FUN Challenge!!
....Good Morning and Happy Thursday!
    Today I finished a new card for a challenge being hosted by "The Pink Elephant Challenge". This week's challenged is based on a Sketch and you can find this sketch over at on the challenge blog - Click Here!!
   This is Challenge 55 and has a fabulous prize, which is sponsored by this really neat Stamp store, called Bugaboo Stamps - which can can find HERE!!  The lucky WINNER will win 7 Free Digi Stamps from Bugaboo and that is a PRIZE I would be thrilled to win.
   If you like Digi Stamp's as much as I do, then you can visit the store and even "TRY" two Freebies!  Please visit at  this link - Click Here!   I downloaded mine just now and will work on a card with one of them later today!
   And this is the card I am submitting for The Pink Elephant Challenge - It's my take on the sketch and a cute colorful spring-like card.  All of my recent cards are very much in the SPRING theme, and I am looking forward to Spring very much!
   I'm off to work on my next card....have a great day and as always -- Happy Crafting!!
All Rain and NO SNOW....
....makes me a Happy girl today, because I can't WAIT for SPRING and if this "rain" had been snow, we would be buried...but instead it's dark and rainy....but mild and I'll take RAIN any day over snow.  Of course, I would much rather have sun....but I am happier at this point that it's not a Blizzard.
  It's been a very busy week and I realized that I haven't posted in a few days...but I have been VERY busy and doing a lot of craft projects.  Both of my classes at MCC are going well and we are getting towards the end, which is kind of a bummer, but I have signed up already to take another class, so I'm happy about that and will be taking "Design Studio" which is perfect know that I finally know how to use my Expression well.  There are so many awesome classes, that it's hard to decide.  I think taking two at once was a bit too much for me, but I do want to take more!!
  I'm also very happy to be meeting Dianna at our LSS on Saturday and we are taking a Tim Holtz Card class.  I ended up being disappointed in the looks of the actual cards, but I really want to learn and new techniques and of course, see Dianna, so that will be fun and it'll be nice to see her and not doubt, do a bit of shipping there too!
  I have also been working on cards for more challenges and will be posted them soon, but in the meantime, these are some practice things I've done for classes and some simply to practice with my Copics.
  These are the cards I finished up today --  This first one is for a color challenge and the colors are Pink, Light Blue, Chocolate Brown and Green.  You can also us a little white and black, and also had to use some BLING on your card.
  This next card is also a color combo challenge and in thsi challenge you needed to use Pale Yellow and to red like shades --
  These next few images are "Practice" pages I did - coloring/blending with my Copic Markers.  All use the same little Bear Image -- He's a cutie and is a Digi Stamp --
and this is a Card using the same Digi, but
in PURPLE, of course!!
  And these last few things are practice pages of stamped images which were colored using "Watercolor Crayons" a new technique we covered this week in my "The Color Craze" Class.  I really LOVED this technique and think it a great way to color.  I had one small set of crayons, but I have already ordered some more from Stampin' Up, who care many more colors.  We learned how to use them with either a water-brush or a blender pen. I  prefer the water brush, but some of the gals like the blender pens.  It's really fun and a new way for me to color images.    I ordered MORE of these cool Crayons yesterday from Cindy,  (a dear friend, who is also a Stampin' Up - Demonstrator).  If you want to order some or any Stampin' Up Products, I high recommend ordering from Cindy's site.  This link will take you to her website, right to the page where you can find the Watercolor crayons!  Click HERE!
  That's it for now.....time for dinner and we are having "Beef Stew" which has been simmering ALL day....!   Yum!!
   Happy Crafting....
My lucky streak continues!!
  Last week I won an awesome challenge and a large price at the Simon Say's Challenge blog, then I also won a prize from Oh My Crafts on Facebook and now I win a great BLOG Candy prize from "Paula" and her wonderful blog - Distractedly Domestic.  You can see the awesome CANDY I won, at this link - Click Here!!
  Paula and I are classmates at "My Creative Classroom" and when I won about my win in our class forum last week, she wrote and told us all about her Blog Candy.  I went over and wrote and post and I WON!  YIPPEE!  I can't not believe how lucky I have been and I am also VERY Thankful for being lucky.
Magnolia Down Under -- Easel Card Challenge!
   I was so excited to see that this week's challenge was to create an Easel Card, as they have become my favorite type of card.  I have been making so many, that I ordered special envelopes and clear card bags simply for all my Easel cards and they've become  big hit with my family too!     Here is my latest challenge card and I just love how the colors worked out.  I think I'll be using a lot more of these colors in the coming weeks...lots of fresh SPRING colors!
  And here is a different view, I really enjoy the Easel Cards, because it's a nice way to be able to show your cards and see the inside too!
   I stared with my Tilda image and for this card I picked out "Tilda with Tulips" which is one of my newest Magnolia Stamps.  She really sweet and I love the ribbon in her hair.  I colored her with my Copics in shades or coral and peach and then picked out some matching papers and cardstock.  The patterned paper is from My Mind Eye and is a also a pretty glittered paper.  I then picked some matching cardstock, along with some bling and also cut a border of flowers with my new MS punch.
   My final embellishments were these wonderful mini-roses from Prima, which  I love.  I buy mine from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, and you can find them HERE!  I love them and have almost all the colors and ordered a few new colors earlier today.
   I'm off now to rest a bit, as I am really tired now, but I have had a great day ad managed to make some really nice cards. Its' been a wonderful weekend and I am looking forward to more crafting tomorrow!
   Have a wonderful night and as always....Happy Crafting!
Fun Challenge at Simply Scrapping Crafting....
...I found another FUN challenge at SSC (Simply Scrapping Crafts)...and this one is a color combo challenge card and if you are like color challenges, you can find all the the details at this link - CLICK HERE!  And these are the colors that you need to use in your card.   Please be careful and do NOT make the mistake that I did.  I didn't realize, until AFTER I created my card, that I used TOO many other colors...be careful!  I missed it when I read the details the first time!  :(
     Unfortunately, my darn FIBRO fog got the best of me again and when I made my card I did NOT realized that you need to use ONLY these colors with a little bit of white, tan or black.  Needless to say, my card is WRONG, since I used a pink background, but I did try to be sure to use these colors and simply used TOO many colors.  OOOPS!
   Next time I'll know better!  In the meantime, I did end up with this cute Spring/Easter card and I'm sure I can put it to good use!
Happy Sunday!!
   It's another sunny and nice day here and another day that my Fibro seemed to be under control, which is awesome. By the time I went to bed last night, I was really hurting and afraid I would wake up sore..but it turned out okay!
    I had started a new challenge card last night and finished it this morning. This one is for a new "Challenge Group" called "SimplyScrappingCrafts" and it's full of great ideas, a store and some wonderful challenges. I was really happy to see they had a Copic challenge and even offer tutorials for members. If anyone wants to learn how to color with their Copic, hop on over and join the community and then look for the the Copic Classes - Tutorials and Challenge group, and join in and your find the classes and the challenges. There are several other groups and lots of fun challenges!  The first challenge they offer was called JUST FOR FUN and the challenge has a sketch and suggests "three colors" to use for your card.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  The requirements for taking this challenge is:

Create a card using the sketch and these Copic Colors!

   If you do NOT have those colors, you are free to use other colors.  For more details and to find the "sketch" please go HERE!  Have fun!   I decided to make another SPRING theme card, because I just can NOT wait for those warm days to be here.  I also did have all the colors and used them and more for my card.  This is my JUST FOR FUN card submission!!

      As you can see I am still having issues with getting good quality photos and I am considered buying a light box.  I guess I will have to look into that more, as I never seem to get my pics to come out well!
   I'm off now to pick up my room a bit and then head back to SSC and see what other fun challenges I can join in..!!

National Friendship Week Challenge - From Whimsie Doodles

....After realizing that this is National Friendship Week I knew I wanted to make a card in honor of friendship and all of my dear friends.

    And because this cards needed to be created with a Whimsy Doodle Image I picked this cute "Bunny" as the image I wanted to use on my card.   I also made sure to color her in all of my favorite colors.  All the colors and make me smile and make me happy, just like my friends do.  This is my "Friendship Card"--

     And the sentiment I created for my card says - Friendship is Happiness and to me that could NOT be more true.  I adore all of my friends and to me friends are just like family.  They bring a lot of fun, love, and happiness into my life and I am soooooo fortunate, because I have a huge world of friends.

     And they are the BEST!

      Hugs and Love,

National Friendship Week -- My Friends are the BEST!!

    I just found out today while working on a challenge card, that this is "National Friendship Week".  Did you know that?

   To be honest I didn't know there was such a thing, but it think it's a nice idea.  Some times I thinks it's nice to be reminded of how special friends are in our lives and to me, my true and closest friends are VERY much the same as family to me.  I have had some of my friends all of my life and that too is very unique and special.   I'm fortunate to be blessed with so many friends, some local and others spread out across the country and even a few overseas.   A whole world of friends!

  I found this quote that I have always loved and thought it would be the perfect quote to share --

 "Many people will walk in and out of your life,  But only TRUE friends will leave footprints in your heart"  ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

Fun Magnolia Challenge!

....If you LOVE Magnolia stamps and enjoy challenges, then be sure to hop on over to the "Just Magnolia Challenge Blog" and join in on the challenge, which is Week 43.  This week they have provided an inspirational "sketch by Jay Jay" which will help you get started.  All you need t do is pick out your favorite stamp and start creating!

   I started my card yesterday with my"Jam Tilda" stamp and today started putting everything together!  This is my completed card  --

   This "Tilda" image is my very favorite and I have used here in several cards.  I love how she is sitting and find her a lot of fun to color.  I colored her with my Copics and made this a HUG or Friendship card.   He outfit is actually a light pink/lavender color and I picked the cardstock and flowers to match her.

   There is also a wonderful prize this week -- two awesome Magnolia images that I would love to own.  I HOPE everyone joins in and I wish every one GOOD LUCK!
  As always....happy crafting!!

The Pink Elephant Challenge....

   I found an adorable new challenge blog this week and it's called "The Pink Elephant Challenge" and they have such a cute blog and a FUN and EASY challenge for the week.  It's Challenge #54 - is all you need to do is use RIBBON on your card.  I LOVE ribbon and use it on many of my cards, so I new this would be a great challenge for me.  And the best part is the PRIZE is an awesome sets of Spring Stamps from C. C. Designs - You can see them HERE!  Aren't they adorable!  I love these stamps and own a few already -- it would be awesome to win this new set, so please wish me luck!
   This is my card and I went with a Spring theme - Simply and pretty and I added a black border to my image and then added black ribbon with white polka dots.  I love polka dot ribbon and bought a bunch of colors a few weeks ago at my LSS.

    I was very happy with how this card came out and I also used it as practice for using the "feathering" coloring method I learned in my Copic Class.  I simply LOVE my Copics and think they are awesome!
    I hope some of you will join me in this challenge - it was fun and The Pink Elephant Blog is a fun place, please hop on over and check it out!!

Holly Jolly Christmas.....

...Today my first card is for one of my Christmas Card challenges and the theme for this week  is "Holly".  Which I guess must be a popular theme, as I created a different holly card a few weeks ago for another Christmas challenge.  On that card I had used a stamp, but on this one I found a really cute image of a Holly branch and used that for this card.  I also Embossed the burgundy background cardstock with a "Holly" themed Embossing folder in my Cuttlebug.  It was a fun challenge and I really am enjoying ALL of my challenges.

   This week is Challenge #5 over at Susie & Vikki's Christmas Club. and this is the card I created for their challenge --

   If you want to join in, please hop over their blog and you can find it HERE!  I'm off now for work on another card, which I will post shortly for another FUN challenge.

Spring is in the Air....

.......and I am one girls who is VERY ready for Spring and can not wait for it to arrive.  One of the things I like best about Spring is watching the flowers and trees all come back to life....
    I have been coloring a lot of "Spring" Images lately, so when I saw this week's challenge over at "A Spoon Full of Sugar" I knew I had the perfect image for a really cute Spring Card.  This is the card I am submitting to their Spring is in the Air Challenge --
       Isn't this such a cute!  This image is one of new digi images I recently bought and this one is from the DigiStamp Boutique, a wonderful Digi Image store I found while blog hopping a few weeks ago.  I have bought several digital images lately and the animals are some of my favorites.  This is Shelly the Turtle and you can find her HERE!  The best thing about buying digi images is that you can make the image ANY size you want.  I also LOVE the "easy storage" and the fact that you have them as soon as you pay for them!
     I'm off now to work on another card.....and hope you'll visit again soon.

     As Always....Happy Crafting!

     This week's challenge was fun, because it also included a FUN little Blog Hop and the prizes are fabulous.  If you have time to join in, please do!  You will see some wonderful cards and inspiration on your hop.  I did have to substitute a Tilda image, as I did not have a good image to use for a Friendship card from my collection.
    This is my card and I really like how it turned out.   This is a 'recipe card' and in this recipe we  needed to use three type of embellishments.  I used brads, flowers, ribbon and die cuts.  Another part was to use 2 different patterned papers, which I did with the blue and yellow coordinating papers, as well as the die cut to match in a darker blue card stock.   My image is "Jam Tilda" and she is one of my favorites.  I chose her because she is so adorable and I thought she would work well for this challenge!

  My friends are VERY important to me and I want YOU all to know how much your friendships mean to me.  I am so lucky to be blessed with a world of friends and some of my friends I have had ALL of my life.  That is one special thing that you have from living in the same area, from birth.
   Friends to me, as as important as family and many of my best friends are truly  part of my family.  Sadly, because of terrible losses and heartache, we now have a very tiny family.  And that is why I adore and cherish my friends as part of my family.  They mean to world to mean and that all are very special people in my life!
   Hugs and LOVE to you all, and I know you ALL know who you are!

A Little About Me

My Photo
Northeastern, Massachusetts, United States
Purple is my favorite color and ironically - Purple is the Awareness Ribbon color for Fibromyalgia, an illness I personally live with. I had to stop working in 2006 due to Fibro and Degenerative Disc Disease. It's been a tough road at times, but I have a wonderful family and fantastic friends. I am a Mom to two awesome sons (Ages 21 and 26) and a wife and friend to a wonderful Hubby. We live in a tiny coastal community in Massachusetts and have lived here all my life. My hubby and my boys are my whole world and mean every thing to me! I cherish all three of my guys!! I am very lucky to be blessed with wonderful friends. I adore and cherish each of my friends as much as my family! I am an avid card-maker and love all types and stamping, and also love coloring with my Copics. I'm very lucky to have this whole new world on online friends that I've met through my Craft Groups. HUGS TO YOU ALL!!
