A little Giveaway....

  I am hosting a fun little Giveaway over at the Hero Arts Flickr Blog and I invite you all to HOP on over and join in -- GO HERE!!  As you may already know, Jennifer McGuire is hosting a very sweet "Kindness Campaign" on her blog and because I adore her, my Giveaway was inspired by her idea!       I have been so touched by the kindness of so many of you, since I first become sick. The amazing cards, caring messages, treats, goodie packages, prayers and thoughts have truly meant so much to me during my Cancer battle!  You're all wonderful!!

Wishing you...

.....and your family and friends a very Happy Thanksgiving!   I hope you all have wonderful day and enjoy every moment!   I am super excited to be spending Thanksgiving in gorgeous San Diego this year and for the first time in many years, I'll be with both my sons, which is awesome.   This trip was planned way back in the Summer and I was thrilled that Alex and Acacia were able to make the trip with us.  When this posts, it'll be Wednesday, and that means we arrived here, yesterday and already had our first fun-filled day here!  If you follow me on Facebook, I'm sure you've seen my updates, and I thank you for stopping by my page.
     Today, I have a sneak peek of a fun little "Thanksgiving" card that I created for our current challenge over that the a2z Scrapbooking Blog!  Come on over and play along!  You have a choice of two themes, this month (Thanksgiving and/or One Layer Cards).   Please feel free to create either type of card/project or combine both, which is did for my card.

         I also want to give credit for part of my card design to the super talent Kelly Latevola, who I greatly admire.  As you may remember Kelly was once part of the a2z Design Team and is a super talented designer.  When I first started my card, I admit, I struggled with the concept of One-Layer, since I love lots of layers and lots of elements.   I had actually completed my card and felt like it was 'missing' something.  The very next day, I saw a video Kelly shared on YouTube - Click Here - and loved her idea of using "Inks" to create borders and a look of layering.  I took that idea and pulled out my card and used that technique to add borders to the top and bottom of my card, using the same inks I had used for my leaves!   It was just what my card needed -- thanks again to Kelly for this awesome idea!  A technique I know I'll use over and over again.      You'll find more pictures of my entire card, along with a full product list, over at the blog.  Before I go, I want to again WISH you all a wonderful Holiday.   I am so happy to be in California and now this will be a Thanksgiving that I will always cherish and remember!   Today, we are planning to go to SeaWorld for the day and I know that will be a ton of fun and amazingly my very first time there.

To Do Lists....

    As we get closer and closer to the Holidays, I find myself making more and more lists of things I need to get done.  My memory is NOT what it once was, so making lists and notes and hanging them all over the place is something I do all the time.  Today, I thought I would share a really fun little "card" that I created as a "To Do List" using some of the wonderful new Kelly Purkey Planner Products,  that we have for you over at the a2z Scrapbooking Store.

Not so happy news...

 My cancer is back!!!  And as much as I was concerned it would be, it still was so upsetting to her that news today!   The tumor is my lung is larger and grew fast, despite the chemo that I never stopped.  I start Radiation asap, my docs will consult tomorrow and let me know..it will likely be next week.

   I am still going to Cali for Thanksgiving an would NEVER ever give up that trip...I asked if I could start after, but they say I need to go ASAP to save my life.   I'm so depressed and scared but I'll do what they want for now..but will not give up my live to be in a treatment or the hospital every day..if if comes to that...I want some quality of life and to do things on my "bucket list" while I can.

  Please keep me in your thoughts...I'm feel very defeated right now ..and pray for all those that deal with this nasty illness!

Kindness always matters....

    I am delighted to be here today to share my first "Share handmade kindness" card that was created for Day One in Jennifer McGuire's fabulous new Kindness Campaign.  You can read all about it HERE and you can also play along!

     I am touched by the wonderful cause that Jennifer's campaign is promoting, which in the Kind Campaign, a fabulous non-profit established to help fight the war on Bullying.  You can read about about the Kind Campaign on their BLOG HERE!  You can also link from Jennifer's Blog and I hope you will also consider donating.          One gal over at one of my online groups has "Challenged" everyone who attended the Simon Says Stamp "CREATE" 2015 even (where we were given the "Kindness Matters" stamp set, as a gift from Hero Arts.....to donate the cost of the set the the "Kind Campaign".  I think that is a wonderful idea and although I was able to donate more, IF every one does send in the $15.95 "Retail Value", it was raise a whole LOT of money for the Kind Campaign!  Please consider it !!             I created three cards today, all of which will be mailed to family and friends.  The first card, which features the fabulous Kindness Matters Stamp Set, was created to send to a friend who is recovering from hip replacement surgery!  I hope you are doing well, Lynda and send you fond wishes, for "Happy Healing".

   My next card is a fun birthday card I created for my son Alex's Finance' Acacia, who will very soon be in my "Daughter"!!  Like me she also loves Purple, so I was happy to use lots of purple on her card.

   And that brings me to my third card today and this one is a "Friendship" card that was created for the November Card Chain, which you can also join, over Deb Nolan's Blog.  This is a really fun International Card Swap that Deb hosts every month.  I created my card based on the November CCC "Color Combo" as well as the "Sketch".
