Happy Saturday!!

Another week has flown by again, I can't believe it's already Saturday and that I haven't posted in here almost ALL week!!

It's been a good week, pretty busy and lots of things going on. Alex was home sick from school on
Tuesday, went back on Wednesday and then came home again on Thursday, but was fine and Friday and seems to be okay now. He's had a "stomach bug" that was going around, but I think it's FINALLY gone.

DH has been on Vacation (Shutdown) for his second week, but will be going back to work on Monday. He did get the bathroom all re-painted, hung new shelves, and spray painted a white wicker cabinet that we decided to keep. It came out nice and everything is now back in place and looking fresh and clean! This is a picture of the new shelves, we added and it also shows our paint color, I love it, of course....

I still want to get a few more "nicer" baskets and I may also put up a border again too, but for now it's nice and everything is very neat and clean! I also washing all the rugs/curtain and shower curtain and it's ready for Spring. One less room to Spring Clean for me.

Brian is finally getting over his miserable cold, but is still very upset about being laid-off and not working both jobs. He has become so used to working day and night, that he's kind of lost and doesn't know what to do in the day. He keep hoping he'll go back soon and so do I. I did tell him that if things get too bad he can always move back here...but that would mean I lose my craft room, which would be a bummer. I'm fine though as he is more important, but then again, who wants to move back home at 22, not Brian, that's for sure. Plus he says he'd hate me losing that room...he knows how much I love it, but I LOVE him much more. I'll hope that things work out for him...as we have NO room for his apartment full of furniture, and it would be a shame to give it up!!

Patty and I went up to the Mall yesterday to use our NY & Company coupons. We did great, I was able to use $60 worth of Free coupons and over half of my new things were ultimately free. I bought two pairs of Capri Pants, 2 Cami tops, 2 more casual tops, 2 pairs of sandals, a new watch and a pair of earrings and my grand total was under $60. They had another great sale and now I am totally sent for the Beauty Bash and Spring. We had her Grand-
daughter Riley and she was fun. She bought a cute little headband there and then we were going to take her to Build-a-Bear, but she wanted new sandals, so we went to JC Penney instead and she got two really cute pairs...she's such a little doll and very easy to take care of!! We were home by noon and it was a really nice and mild, sunny day!!

Today, I've been crafting and have now caught up on my 365 Project. I finished up Page 9 today which is up drying now. I had
finished the previous page in the middle of week and this is that page, which was for the Week of February 15-21st!

Here are some cards I made this week too. It was a good week for crafting as I wasn't feeling 100% and had a lot of time to create.

Well that's about it for this week! Overall, it wasn't the best week I have ever had......but certainly not the worst.

A Sad Day...

Today is a sad day for me...
I found out this morning that one of the gals in my "Beauty Group", lost her dear son, Christopher, yesterday morning. Little Christopher, had been battling a rare genetic illness since the day her was born, but the poor little dear lost his battle on Monday! Nonetheless, he was a strong little fighter and he reached his Milestone 10th Birthday last year, making him one of the oldest children to have lived with his illness.

He the was the LOVE and JOY of his parent's life and my heart is breaking for his Mom, Diana! I hope with all my heart that she is doing okay and that her fond memories of Christopher will help her through this terrible time!

In Loving Memory of Christopher "Scooby", may he rest in peace with the Angels in Heaven and my his Mom, Dad and brother forever cherish his memory!! Bless them all!

Friday! Another week gone by!!

Hum! I don't know what's up, but I have not been abel to access any of my "Google" things via FireFox for the past two day. I finally gave up on trying and was able to get here via Internet Explore? Very odd, but at least I can finally update my BLOG!!

Today, is already Friday and I can NOT believe how fast this week has flown by. I guess between DH being on Shutdown/Vacation and Alex being on school vacation, things have been so busy that the time flew!!

I can't believe that Alex will be back in school on Monday. DH still has on more week off and then he'll go back on the following week. This week he worked a lot in our crawlspace "cellar" area putting in new insulation. Next week, he will re-paint the bathroom and put up some new shelves. I can't wait for that project to be done, because we ned the storage area!

This has NOT been my best week...my fibro has been flaring on and off all week and the weather has been cold again. We even had about 3" of snow overnight, but luckily the sun was out today and a lot of it melted. I am very ready for Spring and some nice warm weather.

I did make several new cards this week and also finished the challenge cards for the 2 Peas - A Year in Cards Challenge. They were all Thank You cards and came out okay, but I wasn't overly thrilled. I was going to post a picture here, but I guess Google is still acting up a bit, because I can't seem to upload my "card picutes", so I guess I'll wait and try again tomorrow!
I'm beat and and giving up for today!! Goodnight all!!

Happy President's Day & Happy Monday!!

Today, started off being a very tough day with my Fibro! I woke up with a lot more pain then normal, but once I had time to change my Patch and take my daily meds, I thankfully starting feeling better.

Patty called and found out she had a couple of free hours, so she came over and we both worked on card-making. She made two nice cards while she was here and used my Cuttlebug to cut some shapes to take home for more projects. I worked on one card for my friend "Pink" (from the Beauty MISfits Group) and then did some more reorganization in my scrap room. I finished up Page 7 for my 365 Project and these are a few pictures of the completed page:

And he is a close up picture of the same page. I named it CLOSE to my HEART, because it was Valentine's week and also because everything in the pictures is either heart related, or something that I really LOVE!! I'm also much happier that this page had more of a theme and came out MUCH better than last weeks! Yippee!!

Then, I tried to re-produce this adorable Monkey that "Shar" from the Scrap Monkey Group had made on her Cricut. Here is mine, which is NOT bad considering I don't have the design studio. It took a lot of cuts to get it to work, but it's not as nice as hers. I do LOVE though that he is PURPLE as my nickname in the group is PURPLE MONKEY!!

Patty also told me today that she had two really bad days with her Mom last week. (For those of you who don't know, she had her Mom move in with her and her family in November because her Mom's suffers from Alzheimer's and was no longer able to live on her own. Patty had made a promise to her that if possible she would not send her to a Nursing home, but she is already finding this very difficult. She gave up her job and missing any freedom she once had. We hardly ever get to do much and miss her terribly too. She the only local gal who crafts with me and she is one of the ONLY people I like to drive with on the Highway and one who I am very comfy to be with. I have terrible Highway driving anxiety and rarely get even to our Mall without an issue, so she is my ride and driver and I miss that. So...as it turns out, she thought she was going to have to cancel going to the QVC Beauty Bash with me and April, because of difficultly in getting one of her siblings to take her Mom for that time. Luckily, it has worked out, but she thought for sure she was NOT gong to be able to go, and she knew I would have freaked having to go alone. She figured she would still drive me to the airport, since we changed out flights out of NH vs Boston at her request...! I am SO happy it all worked out, but I'll tell you, I am super nervous now that something could happen and I may have to do this alone and that is a horrible thought. I would have to hire limos and taxis for everything and it would be so expensive and kind of scary too. Keep your fingers crossed that this doesn't happen. Everything is ALSO all paid for and our flights are NOT refundable and the Hotel/BASH we would lose money on too, if we backed out this late...PHEW! I was lucky it changed...she said she was so upset and was on the phone to call me, but decided to wait one more day...!

Well that was a scare, but NOW I can't help but think that this could STILL happen and I need to think about a back-up plan for myself, just in case!! WISH ME LUCK!

I finshed another page!! At last!!

I really do LOVE the Project 365, but I'm learning now that I need to try and keep some sort of "theme" in the back of my mind, so that when I go to work on my layout for the week, there will be something I can base it on.

Last week's pictures were ALL very different in colors, shapes and sizes and nothing really went together, so I found it very hard to come up with anything I really like. This is my end results, but I'm NOT very happy with it!

This is Week 6 and I'm glad it's done!!

On a happier note, these are some cards I made this week and I think they came out much better. I really LOVE having a Cuttlebug now and using it for the "embossing" effect. I can't believe now I waited such a long time to buy one!!

Happy Friday!!

I can't believe that it's already FRIDAY again, but I am sure happy and very much looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow!!

I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday and keep in mind it's also Friday, the 13th, although that doesn't both me at all. I've always kind of liked Friday the 13ths and have had some GOOD LUCK on those days over the years.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I wish all my friends and family a very nice day. We do NOT celebrate Valentine's Day in a big way, but I do make the guys each a nice little "Goodie Bag" and I made them all nice cards too. This year I bought some my Mom a Laura Geller blush that she has been wanting to try. She had thought I was going to get it for her for Christmas, but I forgot, so I decided this would be a nice time to treat her to it. I hope she likes it and the color is right for her!!

I haven't had the best of weeks and actually had to file an Amended Federal Tax return yesterday, as I had MISSED a new tax deduction. At first I was going to simply pass, but when I realized it would earn us an additional $150 Refund, I was happy to take the time to do the amendment and get it off. I'm NOT at all a paperwork person anymore, despite the fact I spent over 30 years working in Finance and Accounting. Fibro and Fibro fog, I have found make it much more difficult for me to concentrate and focus, so simple tasks are not much more complicated and it's very frustrating! Another down side of this horrible illness!

Well....that's about it for this week. We did have two really mild nice "Spring-like" days and that was awesome. A lot of the snow piles have melted and I'm so eager for Spring! I need more and more warm sunshine to feel better and I'm looking forward to it very much!

Happy Friday
&

Happy Valentine's Day!!

My February Scrap Monkey Challenge Cards!!

I finished my cards yesterday and really enjoyed the "Challenge" ~ Thanks, Cindy! I decided to make both cards based on the sketch. The first is my "Sketch" Challenge card!

Then I made a matching envelope, just for fun -

And this card was made for my Valentine part of the challenge. I went with the same design as the Sketch card, but simply made it more more Valentine's Day. I also made an envelope to match this card too!

And this was another Valentine I had made earlier this week!

It's going to be almost 50 today!!!

WooHoo!

How exciting is that, I'm so sick and tired of Winter and hope a nice 50 degree day will melt away a ton of this snow. It think we need quite a few 50 degree days to make it ALL go away, but this is a start!

Today is a pretty good day for me too, being that it's now warmer, I'm not as achy as I had been for the past few weeks with all the cold and stormy weather. I do hope this this keeps up so I can have a few really good days.

I've finished up the Sunday chores and now I'm heading up to work on next page for the 365 Project. I finished my two "Challenge" Cards for the "Scrap Monkeys" and hope to upload and post those today too.

Other than than, I simply want to relax and enjoy the fact the that I'm NOT freezing!!

A cold and sunny Thursday!!

It's Thursday already and this week again is flying by. On the upside each week that goes by now gets us that much closer to SPRING and I want warm weather SO much. Today is the sun is out again, but it's really cold and won't even go above freezing.

The snow is very deep still from storm after storm and very few melting days. Except where it has been shoveled or plowed, most areas of the year are packed with hard icy 2' of snow and we are going to need quite a few really warm days to melt it ALL away.

I am posting this picture of my big garden from last summer, so it can help to remind me of warm and sunny days and that they will be here before too long!!!

I'm off now to start on my weekly Project 365 page and need to take some pictures. I'm kind of lost this week with ideas. But I'm sure I will think of something!

HAPPY THURSDAY! Have a great day!!

SUPER SUNDAY!!!

Well it's SUPER Sunday, but not nearly as exciting as when the Pat's have been playing. I've really kind of missed a lot of football this year, ever since Tom Brady was injured, it just has not been the same.

I do HOPE for all of you who watch that it's a really good game. I'm routing for the Steelers as I have quite a few friends now from the PA area! GO Steelers...of course, if we were playing against them, I'd be a loyal Pat's Fan!!

The weekend has flown by again and it's almost dinnertime of Sunday and I already know that I won't want to be getting up bright and early tomorrow. On the upside, I did sleep almost 12 hours last night...which was very much needed!

I'm working on my Page five scrap page today, and I did find Page four, (part two). Here is a picture of it --- It's pretty much related to ALL the cold and now and a few of my favorite things "in purple" of course!!

So that's about it for me--I'm going offline now to make some dinner and relax for awhile before the game starts. I'm not sure how much I'll watch, but I may simply leave the TV on that channel and read more of "Twilight"! It's getting pretty good now, but not jumping out and grabbing me as much as I thought it would! I do hope it gets better, because if NOT, then I'm not likely to read the second book and I was kind of looking forward to it!

Peace out!!

A Little About Me

My photo
Northeastern, Massachusetts, United States
Purple is my favorite color and ironically - Purple is the Awareness Ribbon color for Fibromyalgia, a chronic illness I lived with for over 18 years. In, March of 2015, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer which had spread to my brain. I am fighting hard to win this battle and determined to beat it. I have a amazing Oncology Team, along with the LOVE and SUPPORT of all my family and friends! I am a Mom to two grown sons, Alex is now 25 and married to Acacia, my wonderful new "Daughter" and the parents to my precious Grand-Daughter Harper, and Brian amazingly is 30 and now lives in San Diego. My boys are the greatest loves of my life. Hubby, me and our two "Pups", Skye and Zeva, two adorable Chiweenies we rescued in 2012, all live very happily in a tiny coastal town in Massachusetts. We lost our dear "Scoutie", a Purebred Dachshund, in April of 2015. I still miss him and will forever cherish his memory. I am an avid card-maker and totally love every minute I can spend in my craft room. It's become my passion, a wonderful way to relax and is my form or "therapy".
