I truly LOVE Card Challenges!

      .....and I found a really cute new Challenge blog this week too.  It's called 'Little C's Stamp n' Scrap Hawaii' and it's affiliated with 'Little C's Stamps n' Things', which a really cute online Stamp/Craft  Store.   I shopped there last week for two cute Magnolia Stamps (Tilda in Yule Hat and Tilda in Tights), along with a really cute 'Gretel' Stamp.

I picked one of my new Magnolia Stamps to use for me card and it was one that I had purchased from Little C's.  I decided to go with a pretty aqua cardstock and that was the beginning of my  "Embossed" card.  I chose "Tilda with Yule Hat" and this is my completed Challenge Card --

I think this stamp is super cute and will be perfect to make some of my Christmas Cards.  I colored "Tilda" in shades of blue, teal, greens and aqua and then added some "Stickles" to her tights to make her sparkle and shimmer!    I think it came out cute and I am now working on few more cards with the same image.  I am simply changing the colors and my papers for different looks!   I really LOVE cute, whimsical stamps and Little C's...has loads of stamps that will be perfect for me.  I hope to shop there again very soon and will plan to take part in more challenges too!

A fun card challenge!!

 I wanted to share a FUN card challenge I did today.  It was for a challenge from this blog - Create with Joy, which is owned by a new Fibro friend from  my Fibro Hope and Hugs Group.  She posted about her challenge in our group this morning with the idea that it might help to give us all creative inspiration.

 The challenge is called - Embellish Me Beautiful Challenge and the idea was to see how many embellishments you can you incorporate into a handmade card?  It definitely inspired me and I thought it would be fun to try it.   I also really loved the layout of her card, so I decided to also create a card with that type of design.  The best part is that it was a fun an easy card and a great way to use scraps.  

  I started by simply picking out some scraps of matching card stock and instead of having to cute each square, I decided to use an punch, to make it easy.  I punched three of each color with a hen adhered each square to a contrasting piece of card-stock.   Then I starting  looking for different embellishments for each.square.  I ended up using - Flowers, a Brad, Twinkle Jewels, a Button, Ribbon,  Stickles, and various other "Bling".  "Bling" is one of my favorite things, so it was a perfect challenge for me.  I had fun and found a lot of  different styles to match my little squares.    It went together very fast and I LOVE how it came out.  This is one card idea I know I will use again and think I may make some of my Christmas cards to look like this, simply using Holiday papers and matching BLING!

Brrrr.....I'm cold today...!!

I want to start working on some more Christmas Cards today, but I can't seem to get warm.  I finally went downstairs and lit a fire in the woodstove and thought I would update my blog while I am waiting for it to warm up!

I've had a really good week and spent a lot of time creating!  The most creative project I did was the card submission I did for my entry to "hopefully" become a member of the NEW Cutters Creek Design Team.   I worked on my card last weekend and happily sent it off to Kim on Monday morning.   I have finally decided to upload it to my blog to share with my friends.  This was my submission card and I PRAY that Kim will LOVE it and offer me the opportunity to be part of the team --

    

   It's my 'Snow Lady' card and one of my favorite stamps.   I actually bought it at a Great Impressions class I took last year.  I decided that since I LOVE Christmas so much, that I wanted to submit a Christmas Card.  I also love 'snow people' and actually started a collection of them a few years ago that I use decorate our home each year.  I simply love them and that was another reason I chose this stamp.  Of course, pinks, lavenders and blues are my favorite colors, so I went with that theme, because this is ME and the way I LOVE to create.  

   I also have been busy all week working on Christmas Cards for a swap and also for my friends and family.  I plan to make ALL my cards this year and plan to made a lot of different styles and use lots of different colors.  I rarely ever create the exact same card twice and I rarely if ever us a sketch.  I'm simply pick out stamps, paper and colors and start creating, as that seems to be best for me.

  I also made these cards and two of them were for Challenges on the Challenge Master site.  I truly LOVE doing challenges and find it really helps me to learn new ideas and techniques.  This first card was for a card challenge --

 

  The challenge was to create a circular shaped card, with some blue, and ribbon; which I did, but at the very end, I realized it needed to be a holiday card, and I needed to start over!   I did however keep this card and then made another card for the challenge.  After I used this stamp, I realized how much I like it and made this "Thank You" card with the same stamp.

  I really love how it came out doing it in two or three colors and I used my Copics to color it and then added a hint of glitter.  I also used a EK Success punch on the bottom edge to make it a bit more unique.  I turned out to be one of my favorite cards all week.

  I also did one more Challenge that was a "Color" Challenge and although I did three cards, before I submitted any, I have to admit, I really don't even like this one much?  Oh well!!

   It does incorporate the colors that I needed to use - Brown, Olive Green, Turquoise Blue and a Salmon color...but I simply don't like how it turn out and after my third attempt, I decided it was time to move on.

   Well...my room is finally warming up and now I can get to work!  I hope you all have a great day and a wonderful weekend.

    I would like to send thoughts and prayers to my friend Dianna, who lost her Dad this week, after a brief battle with Cancer.  And also on a sad note, my heart goes out to all those who were affected by the terrible tragedy at Ft. Hood yesterday. 

   Just another sad reminder of how fragile life is and how we ALL need to CHERISH EVERY MOMENT!

New Creations...

  I have spent almost ALL my free time crafting lately and I simply LOVE it more and more each day.  If they ever find a cure for Fibro and I could ever go back to work, I know that I would LOVE to work in a field related to card marking, scrap-booking or paper-crafting.  But, I also know that right now, that is not likely to happen and that as much as I LOVE to create...even that can still wipe me out.

   After crafting almost ALL day Saturday....I was good for nothing yesterday and I am still actually sore today...that's the part of Fibro I hate so much.  Whenever I have FUN doing anything, I have to pay the price for a few days.  But...I am still so thankful that I do have crafts in my life and when I feel good.....being creative is good for me....!  I think without it...I'd be lost and very depressed!  It's a wonderful part of my life and I'm grateful for the days when I can create.

 ...and speaking of creations here a couple of my most recent Project 365 Pages.  I had fun making the Halloween page, which was my page for this week.

   This next layout  was from the week before and all kind of related to a "Great Impressions" card class I took that week with my friend Patty, and the goodies I also bought at my LSS that week.  I also has a picture of a card I made for Two Peas 'Finally Friday' challenge.  I LOVE challenges now and they really help me to learn new techniques and ideas!  

 

And this next card I made for the card challenge on the "Challenge Master" website.  This site is really awesome; it has several challenges in all kinds of different categories.  I may try the "Technique" or "Color" challenge next.

Today....I need to take it easy and heal a bit more!  I've already been to my Craft Group and watched a Craft Show on HSN this morning.  Now I think I'm rest a bit more and catch up on reading the posts in the gorup!

This afternoon, I may work on coloring some more images I have already stamped.  I am in LOVE in my Copics and coloring is a very calming and relaxing!
