Happy Monday ! Happy Creating!!

Just a quick little update today, as I have been very busy over at Colorful Creations working on my very first 'Card Challenge' which will be posted later today!

I am very excited to be a member of their newly created 'Design Team' and very much looking forward to having fun creating!  If anyone wants to come over and join me, I would LOVE that and be thrilled if you all want to create a card for my first challenge.

For those of you who want to get started, it will be a 'Sketch Challenge' and will run for two weeks.   The winner will win a special prize from me and will be chosen by Random Drawing!  This is the sketch I created to inspire you --

It's a pretty easy and basic sketch and you can use any colors you want.  It's all up to you!   This is the card that I created to help inspire you a bit more.  I used a cute Digital Image from Meljen Designs and went with a bright pink motif.  Are you shocked that it's NOT all Purple?  LOL!

I colored this cute little guy with my Copics and chose some simply white pearls as my bling.  I created two scallops circles with my Cuttlebug, and my card borders were created with an EK Success punch.  Easy!!  My cardstock is from American Crafts.    And if you are missing seeing Purple... don't worry, I also created a second card that I will post later this week, that has lots of my trademark PURPLE!

My special thanks to all of my wonderful friends, many of you and have already stopped by and joined the group, thank you!!  I think it will be a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to this fun new venture.   I also owe a huge thank-you to Sharon, for inviting me to join her in the group.  It was because of her, that this position was offered to me!  Thanks girl...you're awesome!!

Happy Saturday!!

....and it's a nasty, rainy and stormy day here in Massachusetts!  YUK!  You know it is NOT going to be a great day when you wake up at 6AM to the sounds of pouring rain and thunder!  That's how my day started and I am not at ALL a fan of thunderstorms.  I hate them and if they are bad, they really scare me.  Luckily, it was not a big storm and there was not a lot of lighting, and I fell back to sleep and actually slept until 8AM, a record for me.
Alex woke me up just before he left for work to tell me he was on his way out.  DH is also working, but they both did a lot for me before they left - thanks guys!  Alex took all our trash/recyclables to our Transfer Station and DH had put in a load of laundry for me too.  Alex finished the first load for me, (You rock), and even had the second load in the dryer, but the time I got up!  Yaay!  How nice was that?  ...and it's not even Mother's DAY, until tomorrow.  Yippee!
I had a nice leisurely morning and took my time getting things done.   I only made one card today and that is one I am taking to a Surprise 80th Birthday Party/Luncheon that I am heading off to this afternoon.  I wish it was a nicer day, as I do NOT care for driving in this miserable weather, but since DH and Alex both are working, I'm stuck and will be heading out shortly. To be honest, I'm not a person who likes a big lunch..., heck, I hardly ever even eat lunch, so this is NOT my favorite thing to do!  I would much rather go out for dinner and wish we were...then everyone could have joined in!  Oh Well!  I'll bet you know how it goes...sometimes there are things you just have to do, even when you don't want too.    The things we do for family...if you know what I mean!! LOL!   If I felt better, and had enough energy I would hit the craft stores and wish I could but I don't want to push my luck.  I'm going to be in the same town, as Michael's and AC Moore, but I know I won't make it.
So that's it for me -- It's now pouring again and we had another round of storms about an hour ago, but luckily they were not TOO bad.  I sure hope this is not a sign of what Summer is going to be like...hoping for MUCH better weather!

Bye bye! Hope you ALL have a great day!!

A Little About Me

My photo
Northeastern, Massachusetts, United States
Purple is my favorite color and ironically - Purple is the Awareness Ribbon color for Fibromyalgia, a chronic illness I lived with for over 18 years. In, March of 2015, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer which had spread to my brain. I am fighting hard to win this battle and determined to beat it. I have a amazing Oncology Team, along with the LOVE and SUPPORT of all my family and friends! I am a Mom to two grown sons, Alex is now 25 and married to Acacia, my wonderful new "Daughter" and the parents to my precious Grand-Daughter Harper, and Brian amazingly is 30 and now lives in San Diego. My boys are the greatest loves of my life. Hubby, me and our two "Pups", Skye and Zeva, two adorable Chiweenies we rescued in 2012, all live very happily in a tiny coastal town in Massachusetts. We lost our dear "Scoutie", a Purebred Dachshund, in April of 2015. I still miss him and will forever cherish his memory. I am an avid card-maker and totally love every minute I can spend in my craft room. It's become my passion, a wonderful way to relax and is my form or "therapy".
