A sunny snowy Sunday....

...that's how my day started off and for me, snow is something I do NOT love, but I admit, it can sometimes look very pretty!!   We didn't end up with much snow, but one the sun came out, the lovely glistening look really made it look gorgeous!!

     Today I am working on some more new cards and having another fun and creative day in my craft room.  I'm also keeping an eye on the NFL Championship Game, as my home team "The Patriots" are playing Denver for a chance to head back to the Super Bowl, which I would LOVE.   We also have a huge rivalry playing against Peyton Manning and I know that the Broncos are favored to win.  Even so, that's okay with me, as I tend to love being the under dogs, but I know this will be a tough game....!   Hoping they win!!   GO PATS!!

    My first card of the day was one I started to think about the day the challenge was first posted, but for some reason, I've been stuck on idea unitl today, when it finally came to me.  I know I wanted to use an image of some sort on this card for the "CAS(e) This SKetch" Challenge, but wasn't sure what I wanted.  I started looking though my stamp stash and when I saw this sweet little floral stamp, which I believe is an oldie from Whipper Snapper.   I knew it was exactly what I wanted, so I quickly stamped it up and then colored it with my Copics.  I then picked up a card base to match my coloring and added a simple strip if black cardstock down the front of my card, and heat embossed my Sentiment in White!

  My next card was also inspired by a Sketch and that is this week's Sunday Sketch from Operation Write Home, which you can find over at the Stars and Stamps Blog we are are working on Sketch # 208, which I am sharing here.

My Card

  As you can see my circles were cut in slightly larger sizes than in the Sketch, since I did not have punches in the exact size, I used my Circle Nestie Dies and chose sizes that were close to those in the sketch.   I also used two different stamps sets to great my "Miss You - Love" sentiment, the Miss You is from Paper Smooches and the "LOVE" Circle is from Neat and Tangled, two stores I LOVE!   This card is one of those, that actually looks better in person, the photo is not so great!

  Next is a really fun and different card and this one was inspired by a challenge that I am playing in for the very first time.   It's NOT new, but the talent here is amazing, so I guess I've been a little intimated the very popular "Case Study Challenge".  I'm so happy that I decided to give it a try and also am trying this fun little inking idea for the first time.   I also loved the card that Donna Mikasa created and have always admired her work!!

  For my card I started with picked up two stamps, both from this SSS Set that was one designed by Kristina Werner.  I knew I wanted to do some type of "Resist", so I stamped them both in Versamark and then heat set them with white embossing powder.   I then decided that I wanted to ink color to be "Purple" (no surprise there), and pulled out my Neon Purple Dauber, by Hero Arts.   I wiped the color across the embossed images and then hit it harder in a few places to create that fun "splat" look.,   Once it was all dry I added on a variety of purple and white iridescent sequins for more sparkle!!   It was really fun and very different for me!!

  In addition to that challenge I am also submitted this card to the latest challenge over at "Addicted to CAS" where the them is NEW!!  And since this was all NEW to me and the first time using this gorgeous new Purple Dauber, I thought it would be perfect for their challenge too!!

   And that brings me to the last card I have for you today and this one is another Challenge inspired card and was created based on the Photo Inspiration over at "FUSION".   As you can see I used the idea of a woodgrain background and the fun color combo of black, white and yellow for my card, which started with a simple black card, created from some Hero Arts Layering Paper.  I then cute a card front from this wonderful woodgrain textured cardstock and is sold over at SSS.  I added a pretty black strip with this Black Lustre Cardstock and then Die cut my elements to be the focal point on the card.

  I am very thankful to have had such a nice day of creating!  Unfortunately, as of right now it looks like my Football Team may be in trouble!  Bummer!!
