Card creations....

I had some time this week to finally sit down, relax and make some fun new cards.  These are a variety of different techniques and styles, but I had fun making them all!

This first card was crated for a new Challenge over at StampNation.  We had a challenge to create a card based on the inspiraiton of various videos offered in this fun group.  I picked a video that showcased cards created with 'punched frames'.   For my card I used scraps and realize now, this would have made a nice Christmas Card, has I used a Holiday Sentiment, although I do love his digi sentiment.  My new card is also being submitted to this week's 'Going Green' challenge over at Penny's Paper Crafting Challenge Blog for Challenge #48.

My second card was made with an adorable little Spoonful images from By Lori Designs.  Lori is a fabulous digi creator and I've always been a fan of here sweet fun images.   My card is called 'SMILE' and features Nellie who I color with some of my favorite NEW Copic Colors.

This card was created and inspired by these fun challenges:

My next card features one of the brand new images from the 'Patsy April Showers' collection that was released earlier this week at StampFairy.

I am submitting this fun Spring themed card to these new challenges:

And my fourth card was created for this week's Prima and Other Medium (POM) Challenge over at 'The Outlawz'.  The theme is 'Your Favorite Color Combo' and you can find all the details over at the sign HERE!!

Spring is coming....

And that makes me a happy girl, especially since I am NOT at all a winter fan and long for some warm sunny days.

I'm so done with Winter and want to totally focus on bright colors and happy fun Spring and Summer creations and today that is exactly what I started to do.  My card today was created for a variety of new challenges and I was very happy to find several with a Spring theme.  I had a lot of fun coloring my image and I hope that maybe someone can help refresh my memory on where these image is from?  I can not remember where I bought or grabbed this digi image and I since I really do want to give credit to the artist, I'm hopeful someone will recognize it.  If so, please post me a note, so that I can update by post and thank the artist.

I have fallen in love with digital images and in the last year I have established a wonderful collection.  I literally now own 100's of images, but unfortunately, I did not always organize them well and I now, I do not know all the artists and for that I apologize.

This is my latest card created today for a variety of new challenges!  I hope it will help us all - THINK SPRING!!

I started with this wonderful image, which I colored with my Copics.  I also used my ABS to highlight spray on a light background, also to match the flower pot and the flowers.  I then cut out the image with a scalloped nestie die and cut two larger ovals in matching colors.  My flower was created by using a variety of die cuts I created with my Expression two new Cricut Cartridges (Bloom and Mother's Day Bouquet).  I cut several petal/flower shapes in assorted colors of lavender and purple and then layered them to create my flower.  I completed it by added a stem and leaves (also cut from Bloom) and lavender gem and a sweet little Green butterfly.

I am submitting my new Spring Card to all these new challenges and invite you ALL to join me!!   THINK SPRING and have some fun -
I am looking forward to spending more time this week working on Spring things and will be looking forward to the real thing!

PS:  Do you love Copics?   Have you had a chance to see or buy the new colors yet?   (I have included a picture of my set below).   Guess What?  If not, I can tell you where you can go to have a chance to WIN the brand new set!!   PLEASE  hop on over to my friend - Dana's Blog - HERE!

You'll then have the chance to sign up to win and also PLEASE be sure to wish her a HAPPY BLOGAVERSARY!!  She's a fabulous crafter and artist and you'll be totally inspired by her wonderful talent!!   WOOHOO!!!

It must be my LUCKY DAY!!

Today has turned out to be a really good one for me.  First, I woke to to a bright sunny day and our temps are going up to the 40's...Yippee!!!  I slept in too and felt pretty good when I first woke up.

I opened my email to find out I was one of the lucky Winners of the February Challenge over at the Copic Musketeers and I won a pack of Cryogen Cardstock from 'Paper Temptress'. ..!! Yaay!! My thanks to Danielle and Melanie at the Copic Musketeers and also to Patricia from the Paper Temptress for the sponsoring this challenge!!     I love this paper and have bought it many times from the Paper Temptress, so this is a great prize for me.

My next good news was finding out that Jennifer McGuire will be coming to my LSS to teach a weekend of classes in April and I signed up and got into her Techniques class today.  I also recently learned (last week) that Kerry, who is also on the Baby Bud Design Team, lives in NH and has been to my LSS (Absolutely Everything) many times and she hopes to come down and take the class too.  It's so nice to meet another crafter from the area and I hope to do another shopping trip with her in the future.  She also told me all about the CKC Convention being help in Manchester, NH this year and I wish I had known early and called an booked a room at the hotel.  I called yesterday, but it's so close that everything was sold out!!   I am still trying to figure out a way to go, but know that to drive up and back in one day, would be way too much for me. If I could have stayed over it might have worked, and I'm still looking into other options!!   It sounds like a great time....and I would love to go!!  Still working on some ideas and hoping!!

And this afternoon I was over a Feline Playful when I realized I had won another challenge and this was one hosted by Crafty Cardmakers and it was their Challenge # 37 - Use Red and a Die Cut.  This is the card that I had submitted!   Yaay!!

Lastly, I have one new card that I can share now, and this card was created today for the new Color Combo Challenge which started today over at 'The Outlawz'.  You can hop on over HERE and find all the details.  The colors for this week are black, white and color and this is the card I created.

I made a 5" square card and started with a coral colored card base.  I think picked out two digi papers (in black and white) that I had bought at Shery K Designs.  I printed out two sheets and cut the first piece to be the first layer of my card.  I used the second piece along with some coral designer paper to created my flower with my Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Die.  I then cute a 2" strip of black cardstock and embossed it in my Cuttlebug.  I tied a piece of black sheer ribbon around this piece and that's that where I added my flower with pop dots.  It was really a fun card to make and I really love this color combination.  I know it's one I'll be sure to use again.

The card was also inspired and will be submitted to these challenges:

I'm off now to work on some new Spring Cards and can't wait for the Spring weather to be here to stay!   I hope you are all enjoying the first day of March and hope by the time the month is over we'll all be enjoying warm sunny days!!

A Little About Me

My photo
Northeastern, Massachusetts, United States
Purple is my favorite color and ironically - Purple is the Awareness Ribbon color for Fibromyalgia, a chronic illness I lived with for over 18 years. In, March of 2015, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer which had spread to my brain. I am fighting hard to win this battle and determined to beat it. I have a amazing Oncology Team, along with the LOVE and SUPPORT of all my family and friends! I am a Mom to two grown sons, Alex is now 25 and married to Acacia, my wonderful new "Daughter" and the parents to my precious Grand-Daughter Harper, and Brian amazingly is 30 and now lives in San Diego. My boys are the greatest loves of my life. Hubby, me and our two "Pups", Skye and Zeva, two adorable Chiweenies we rescued in 2012, all live very happily in a tiny coastal town in Massachusetts. We lost our dear "Scoutie", a Purebred Dachshund, in April of 2015. I still miss him and will forever cherish his memory. I am an avid card-maker and totally love every minute I can spend in my craft room. It's become my passion, a wonderful way to relax and is my form or "therapy".
