Back to Card Camp!! Yippee!!

  When I was younger, I remember one Summer that my parents thought they were given me a super treat and sent me off to Summer Camp for two week.    I was homesick the whole time and did not like it at ALL.   Go Figure?   I don't' think I even finished out the second week and after that I NEVER went to camp again.

   That was until I found this awesome online Summer Card Camp and NOW....I love camp and enjoy it every minute.  I'm even taking an all day Stamp Camp class at my LSS this weekend, and I'm now a very happy camper and that's because they are craft camps and that's exactly what I LOVE!!

   This week we have a gorgeous new color combo at Card Camp and these are the colors you will see me working with this week!

    I'm here now to share three new cards that I have created for a few different challenges and ALL were based on this fun and happy color combo.

    My first card was started yesterday and was also created for the Greeting Card Challenge at The Outlawz Challenge Group.   For this card I picked out a Poppy image, and colored it with my Copics to match our new color Combo.   I also added more color to the little Prima Butterfly, so it also matched the them.   I then added a simple border, that I created with one of my new Memory Box dies.  It's a little square note-card, perfect for everyday use.

   My next card was also created for Summer Camp and this for this card I created by own background in the theme color by using Distress Inks, a Blending Tool and Perfect Pearls Mist.   I then stamped on my Hero Arts image (Wild Flower Garden), and then heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder.   I then put it all together, added some bling and ribbon and had this fun shaped card.  NOTE:  I created my card shape using a Grand Labels 4 Die Set and my Grand Calibur.

    This card was inspired and created to be submitted to each of the new challenges.

   And I have a third card to share today and this card was also created for a variety of challenges, and was inspired by today's new class Video at Card Camp.  Today, Jennifer shared a very fun technique she discovered on day while working in her studio.  It's a embossing/kissing type technique and it was really fun and easy to do. 
 
   After following the technique, I put together this fun card, which was created with another of my new Hero Arts Stamps (Watercolor Petals).   Once I had the image embossed, I used these Pearlescent Watercolor Paints by Yasutomo, to color the flower with an Aqua Brush, which gave me a very subtle look, which is what I wanted with such a bright background.  Any coloring medium would have worked, but it was fun to try these paints that I've had in my stash.

   In addition to today's new challenge at Camp Camp, I am also submitting this card to the 'Anything Goes' Challenge being hosted over at Craft Your Passion.

    And now I am off to work on something totally different this afternoon.  It's another Challenge, only this one is a totally different color combo and even a for a different season.  Today's new Color Challenge at The Outlawz is Christmas in July and the Color Combo is Black, White and Red!    Sounds fun, don't you think?  If you want to play along, you can find ALL the details HERE!!

  I really am very behind on making a start in my Christmas Cards, and this new challenge has inspired me to make a start!!

   Update:   I'm back with my 'Christmas in July' card, which ended up being a lot of fun.  This image is a retired Digi from DigiStamp Boutique.   Her name is Chloe and she has always been one of my favorites.   I was surprised when I went over to find her link, and realized that she's been retried.   But, no worries, as there are several more adorable images in the store!  :)

Happy Happy Everything....

    Just a short post today to WISH all my friends here the the US a very Happy 4th of July.

    I'd also like to wish everyone every where a Happy Day no matter what you are doing, take time to to ENJOY each day and everything that makes you HAPPY!!

Stars and Butterflies.....

   Today is a cloudy day and that makes it a perfect day for me to spend a lot of time in my craft room, which is always my favorite place to be.

   I'm anxious to get to work on something new for Card Camp and I also wanted to create some cards that would work out for few of my favorite challenges.   I started by coloring one of my favorite images from Bugaboo and I chose one of the new Color Combo as my inspiration for my colors.   These are the colors that I chose from our Summer Card Camp palette and they are also some of my favorite colors.

    And this is the card that I created based on these wonderful colors !

    I started by printing out my Bugaboo image and then colored it with my Copics.  I then used my Pearl Pens to add more color and dimension to the image.  Next, I picked out some matching papers and created this fun and simple design.   I then simply added some bling, popped up my image with pop dots and had this fun card that I am submittubg to each of these new challenges:

    My second card was created for a variety of challenges, all of which are focusing on the 4th of July and or a combination of Red, White and Blue.   My card was also based off of today's new Sketch over at the Stars and Stamps Blog and this is a copy of the sketch I used as my inspiration -

    I also want to remind you about the Virtual Cardmaking Party and all the awesome challenges being hosted by Operation Write Home that you can find HERE!! 

    This is the card that I created and it all started with a stamp I have had in my stash, since I first started crafting.  I stamped it in Versamark and embossed it with Silver Embossing powder on bright white cardstock.  I then colored it in a Red, White and Blue theme, using Copics and Stickles.  My card design was based on the sketch.

  This fun card was inspired by many more challenges and I am submitting it to each of these!  My special wishes to everything for a wonderful, safe and Happy 4th of July.   I'd also like to send out a giant Hug to all our troops and to thank them for their service.  I hope they all will soon be home and safe from harm.  God Bless our Troops and keep them safe from harm.

A super fun Saturday!!

   When I woke up today I didn't start out any any plans, I was going to simply do my morning chores and then head to my craft-room and work on my cards.

     It was just about that time I was ready to start creating, when Brian, (my oldest son), called and invited me down to the Pub for a nice lunch.  He's always so sweet to invite me and a lot of times, I'm not able to go down, either because I'm already into a project, at a class or simply do not feel so hot.   I had not been down for over a month and I knew it was time to get out, so today was the perfect day for me to go.   I had a yummy Grilled Chicken Salad and my favorite drink a 'Beach Bum' which is one of Brian's delicious concoctions and the drink I always order there!   A perfect fruity summer drink and delicious!   Today, I also met Meghan, a new gal working with Brian, who is totally adorable.  She and Brian seem to really enjoy spending time together and she was so friendly and easy to talk with.  I really liked her and hope maybe she'll be around more and more!!    I love spending time with my boys and always have fun when I do!  He and Alex are both so good to me and I love them both to pieces.  I really lucked out with my sons I'm am so thankful they grew up to be such great guys. 

     Once I came home, I headed to my craft-room and wanted to work on another card for Summer Camp. I also wanted to crate a card for the new challenge at the 'Through the Craftroom Door' site and knew the challenge was to create a Fairy Tale inspired challenge.  I was a bit confused  on that theme as first, but once I found out, it was okay to simply use a Fairy image, I knew I had a few to choose from.   I ended up choosing this sweet little Kiki-Rose Fairy, which is one of the digis from my Pollycraft. collection.

    My next step was to pick out a color combo from Camp and I chose this one - somethign different than what I normally use, but another way to try new things, which is exactly why I am in Summer Camp!!

    I printed out little Kiki on my Cryogen Cardstock (my favorite), and then quickly heat set it, just be sure my Copics would not bleed and because I was coloring it directly off the printer.  All of the colors I chose were based on the Color Combo, and I added a hint of Star Dust Stickles to her Fairy Wings.   I think picked out some matching cardstocks and put together this cute card.

    I am submitting my 'Wish Big' card to each of these challenges and will also add it to the Gallery at Summer Card Camp.

    And that's it for me for today!!   It turned out to be a really nice day and I am looking forward to a full day of crafting tomorrow and then on Monday, we'll be off to a 4th of July Family cookout in the afternoon.  I hope it's another day as nice as today!!

Fun-Filled Friday!!!

   Woohoo!  It's Friday and also that start of the 4th of July Holiday weekend here in the USA.   It's also the first Friday at Card Camp and each Friday we have a wonderful new selection of Color Combos to create with.

    Today, I have used two of those new color combos to create two fun summery cards and the first card was also inspired by today's Copic Coloring challenge at The Outlawz.   The color combo I picked for this card was the second in our new selection and those colors are:  Orange, Aqua, Dark Teal,  Brown and White. all the colors I used to color this sweet little digi image (Beach Boy Cole), by Lori Boyd.

   My second card was created for today's challenge at Camp and for this card, I was inspired by the first new color combination, especially since it includes PURPLE, which you know is my favorite.   This is the combination I chose to use for this card -- Purple, Bright Pink, Lime Green, Turquoise and White -

  And this is the card I created with this wonderful color combo along with one of my brand new Hero Arts Stamps - Tall Flower. 

  One I had picked out the color combo, I stamped my image in Black Memento ink and colored it using all of the colors in the combo.  I think picked out a piece of my favorite dark purple shimmer cardstock and added layers of Hot Pink and Turquoise to frame the image.  I edged the colored image with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink and then added a hint of ultra fine glitter to the flowers for extra sparkle. 

   I am totally enjoying every day of Summer Card Camp and I'm so happy I signed up.  There are so many amazing crafters in Camp and the creations are all amazing.  It's a great place for inspiration and you can bet that if Jennifer and Kristina host another online class, I'll be in it!!   They are both wonderful designers and I really enjoy that they each have their own style. 

   I'm off for a bit -- to open my mail.  I see a package from Ott Lite, which I have been waiting for !!   It's the replacement bulb I have been waiting on along with a new Ott Lite to keep right my desk!   Yippee!!   See you all a a little later - I do hope to work on more cards today too!
