Another Page is DONE!! Week 14!

I finished my Week 14 page this morning and here it is:

and another view --

Happy Monday!

Only five more days and I'm off to the Beauty Bash! Yippee! I can't wait and I am getting more and more excited every day!! I hope we have a wonderful weekend and meet lots of great ladies!!

Its' still a lousy rainy day here and we didn't have a great weekend, but that was good for me, because I did manage to get most of my outfits all washed and ironed and ready to pack and i did pack all the things that I can now.

I also finished my page for this week and will post it later. Other than that, it was an average weekend..chores, laundry and crafting, but it was nice and I did get a lot done.

Here are some of my most recent creations --

And one more Easter card that I have done ~

Thursday and Patty's 50th Birthday!!

Thursday already~!

...another week is lying by! Today is Patty's 50th Birthday and we'll be going over tonight for cake and ice cream, which will be nice. I talked to her this morning and she was off to get groceries...just another day! She did go out to lunch yesterday with the girls she worked with and our Beauty Bash trip is her big event too. She told everyone she wanted money for our trip and that's how I was able to save up and go too. When I turned 50 (argh!!), in August, I put all my money towards the trip and now it's all paid and I even have spending money all set! Yippee!

I am still playing around with my BLOG with new backgrounds and ideas and this is my look for today. I think it's very pretty and I think I'll stick with with for now!

I also finished up my Page for this week and although it is PURPLE and my favorite color it is NOT my favorite page...which is kind of a bummer!!

Here it is --

And a little bit different view...

I just don't like how "light" it appears...more Lilac then purple, but it's done and now I can concentrate on this weeks challenge!

Today I'm lazy and tired from not sleeping well, so I'm not sure how much I'll actually get done on anything. I really need to start preparing for my trip, but can't seem to get a day where I totally free great! Hopefully I can get a lot accomplished on the weekend and then next work finish up after all my appointments. I have a lot of do before we leave, but I know that somehow, it will get done!

New Blog Design - Thanks Pam!!

Pam from the Scrap Monkey Group found a great site that that has a ton of FREE BLOG Backgrounds. The website is called - "The Cutest Blog on the Block" and it some really cute ideas and things you can add to your Blog for Free! I had been wondering how people have such awesome blogs with really neat and different backgrounds and know I know one of the answers. I'm thrilled that she told us about it and I'm sure I'll use it often

I've spent part of my morning, playing around and changing my background and a few elements here on my Blog and I LOVE all the NEW things I can add!

It's fun and I really like the "Crafty" theme I have picked out. I'm sure I'll still need to play around with it more and add more elements, but I am happy with this for a start!

THANKS PAM! This was a great find and I'm thrilled you posted about it!!

Monday is here again!!

SPRING started on Friday.....not here it seems!!

So much for a nice start anyway? We woke up to below freezing temps and it's also very windy outside. I had to get the car running for a good 15 minutes before I brought Alex to school and it still felt cold. Today is just NOT a good day....I slept horrible last night and simply do NOT feel that great. I think it's the Antibiotics that my doctor has me on. I had a Epidermal Cyst removed on Friday and it was more than we both had thought...it's was NOT a pleasant procedure and I never expected to come out with 15 sutures and feeling very faint. I basically haven't felt right since then...ARGH! Luckily, I did finish my Project page on Saturday and haven't done much since. That was actually one the better days, now the incision is fine, but I really very nauseous from the meds and never do well with any Antibiotics for too long. I did call today and hopefully can stop them so my stomach will feel better! Tomorrow, I want to get back up in my craft room and get a bit ahead. I'll be heading to the Beauty Bash next week and that will be a busy week, of appointments, packing and getting ready...I can't wait!]

These are some pictures of my Week 11 Page and some of the cards I made last week --

And some of the cards I made last week too!

....And that's about it for today! Hoping that SPRING will come fast and Summer will be soon to follow! I LOVE SUMMER and look forward to going to the beach. I hope we have a really good Summer, especially since the last two have not been the best!!

Hoping for lots of Blue Sky days...full of sunshine and nice warm temperatures!! Yippee!!

It's Monday...already!!

....Thankfully, it's Monday and the first Monday in three weeks, that I didn't wake up to snow. This is a nice Monday, lots of sunshine, but pretty cold right now...(only in the 30's). Today, my Mom and a large group of friends all leave for a ten day trip to Lisbon, Portugal. I'll be driving Mom, Don and my Aunt Faith, to their bus at 1PM this afternoon and they depart for the airport (Boston) around 2PM. I am very happy it's a great day for flying, as she is NOT a big fan of flying and hates leaving in bad weather. This will be her longest flight ever too, as she has never been overseas.

They has a great group going and often travel together. They've been all over the US and on many cruises, but this is the first overseas trips they've made. They are staying in a gorgeous hotel right on the water, in an area called the Portuguese Riveria. The trips sounds nice, but the flight is MUCH to long for me. California is about my max and even that is hard. I get so cripped up for that much sitting and then ache for two days!

I hope they have a wonderful trip. They get back next week and then the following week I'm off on my Trip and looking forward to is very much.

The weekend was very nice and I actually spent a lot of time in the craft room. I did some re-organizing and then also pulled out my luggage and I'm starting to plan what I want to pack and take on my trip. It's hard for me to decide on my outfits and I always take too much. I hope this time to do better and not take half of what I own, LOL! We will likely be receiving lots of great new skincare and beauty products at the actual Beauty Bash, but we may ship those home via UPS. I'm sure it'll weigh a lot to bring all that home, plus with so many restrictions, I thinks shipping is the way to go. I'm sure it'll only take a day or two for out packages to get home!

Today, I hope to start working on this my Page 11....! I am currently caught up, but need to get going on that and then start of pictures for this week. I also need to check the 2 Peas site to see of the NEW Card challenge is out, if so, I may work on that later too!

I hope every one is doing okay.....just think...FRIDAY is the "First Day of Spring"....Yippee!!!
....and before you know it my garden should be looking like this again....

Yippee! ITs' Friday!!

I am so happy that today is Friday and my last day of having to be up early. The time change is bothering me now and catching up with me, so I am very much looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow.

The good news today is that the SUN us shining, but it's pretty cold, only in the 30's, but another mild and Spring like weekend will be here again starting tomorrow and it'll be nice.

I've been kind of down all week and cant' really say why, but I think a big part of it is that my son, Brian is beginning to start preparing now to move to St. John VI, where he hopes to work a year or more to save money and at the same time get away. Sadly, now that I have seen the place and area he is thinking of moving too...I absolutely HATE the idea and I know I'm going to fall apart if he goes there. He hopes to work at a tourist type resort and is going based off the experience of a current co-worker and another co-worker who also plans to move back! But, since he would be so new to this, I'm not sure I like how he would live. It's not like here with all the comforts of home...or at least not that I can tell! He's a tech kid who loves all the latest and greatest and I just can NOT see him happy for too long on a tiny island laid back island.

I'm feeling
heartbroken and thought I was all for it. I've seen some YouTube videos of where the "workers' live (their housing is Free) and now I can see why. It's not somewhere I could live, and I could never go and stay with him. What I had pictured in my mind is SO much different and I worry. Plus, my brother was killed in an accident back in 1999 in Antigua while he was there on vacation. He was on a scooter with his then Girlfriend and they got hit by a taxi and he died instantly. I remember how difficult it was for us to bring him home...and sometimes I still have dreams that this was all some big mistake and he is still there and has amnesia or something...it's hard to explain, but after 10 years, I still can feel that way. The dreams I have when we find him, look much like the place my sons want to go to...very tropical and almost like in a jungle and I think that too is playing a huge roll in my fear of this. I feel like if he goes, he's never coming back and it scares me!! I'm in tears and did not sleep all night and I want so much to beg him not to go, but am I right to do that?

This is so hard! If he goes through will this, his will no longer be pursuing his Electrical License and he's SO close now...and it would to me be lowering himself...to a lesser position, with no long term future...but how to you ask you child to stay, when they are an adult. He also plans to sell everything he has...so even if he comes back, he'll have nothing, no job, no apartment, no truck and nothing....?? I know that in some ways this is like an adventure, but I guess I'm just not ready for him to be SO far away. I'd miss him so much and I think that's what is making this so hard for me.

So that's my day and I know he'll be over later and I have to handle this carefully...I'm so torn...I wanted him to travel and do something different, but NOT this place, not now!! I think I'll fall apart if he goes...and yet I feel badly if I hold him back...this is a no win situation and it breaks my heart!!

.....Wish me lots of luck...I need it...!!

Monday.....and more snow...!!

We had an absolutely AWESOME weekend...both days were so nice. Beautiful blue skies and temps up into the 60's, but just blink it today it's snowing. Yes, you heard me right...this is so typical New England! The 5 AM forecast said we would have some sleet, then the possibility of an inch or so of snow, but by 6 AM the forecast was quickly changed (ARGH!!), so a "Winter Storm Warning" and now we are expected about 4-6" of snow...Great!!

It wasn't too bad when I drove Alex to school at 6am, but now at 8:10, I'd say we already have about 1-2 inches and it's snowing heavily. I just hope it's ALL done and over with before I have to head out and pick him up at 2PM!! Bummer!!

So...our two days of nice SPRING weather is over -- but on the upside I loved it and had a great weekend!

Saturday, Patty and went to our LSS and took a DeNami card-making class which was awesome. It was a long class, and we did get tired, but it was worth it. These are pictures of the cards we made.

And these are some of my favorites from the class, I especially LOVE the shopper chicks and I made certain to buy that stamp after class!!

and one more.....this is a really cute one for Easter -

So that was our Saturday and it was such a nice class and a gorgeous day. Then yesterday after 'Springing' our clocks forward for Daylight Savings, we actually slept in until almost 8AM!! Even Packey slept that late, which is like a miracle, I think his CPAP is finally really helping after almost 2 full-years now!! At Last!!

I did some quick chores, jumped in the shower and got ready to take Alex shopping. He needed to get some things for school to Celebrate "Spirit Week", so I had told him I'd happily take him on Sunday. We left about 11AM and our first stop was at Target, we did find much there, but we both did get a new pair of Sunglasses and a I picked up a few things in the dollar bins that I can use with my card-making..some ribbons and some little card sets, that were really cute.

Next, we went to AC Moore and Michaels. He found some Bandannas he wanted at AC Moore and treated me to a new "Cuttlebug" embossing folder I had been wanting...what a good kid, I also bought a couple of wicker baskets for storage in my bathroom. I'm a big basket girl and love having lots of different baskets in all colors, shapes and styles..they go well in my country style home too!

At Michael's, our goal was to look for face paint and hair dye and also I had hoped to find a MS Punch I wanted, while all the MS products we 30% off. The mini hearts border punch was out, again, but I did get a small scalloped circle and then Alex found me an EK Success brand of a border punch with mini-hearts and it was cheaper, so I bought that. As you can TELL, I fell off the Craft wagon, but it was fun to be out with Alex!!

Next we went and had lunch at the famous "Kelly's Roast Beef and Alex treated me...I'm a lucky Mom. We had their awesome Small (which are more like extra large) Roast Beef Sandwiches and split a side of fries..the first time I've cheated on my diet in months..but boy was it yummy!! I savored every bite and was then stuffed. I will be eating very well today to make up for that slip!!

Then we finally ended our spree at iParty, we he finished up his shopping with a lei and some thing for "Tropical Day"...by then I was totally wiped out and I had him drive us home....he did excellent and I was very comfy with his driving. We we got home, he unpacked all the bags, I was beat, so I simply relaxed and worked a bit on some cards.

I went to bed exhausted and had a hard time getting up this morning (with the time change)..but the weekend was fabulous...now if it would STOP snowing, I'm sure I'd feel better today too!

TGIF!!!!

Friday, at last!!

I always have LOVED Fridays...and it's not any different now than it was when I still worked. I just think it's a nice day and have always enjoyed the weekends.

Today I plan to work on my Spring MMMCC card and then I will be all done with March, so that I can focus on my page for this week.

Tomorrow, I'm going to a DeNami Card Class at Absolutely Everything and very much looking forward to it. Patty will be picked me up at noon and our class is from 1-5. It's a long class for me, but if I take it easy in the morning, take my "pillow" and my "Cryogel" I should be able to manage. I really LOVED the last DeNami class we took and it's being taught by the same teacher, Debra who is awesome. I am also hoping that Dianna was able to get a seat and she had been waiting and was going to stop by the store this week, to see if any were available. It's be nice to see her, and the first time in months. Actually, it's the first class I have taken since before Christmas!

I have spent a lot of time crafting this week and my biggest project was for my friend Jini. She is in love with "Edward Cullen" from the Twilight series and she had asked me to make her some type of collage of his picture. At first, I had no clue what to make, but one day while at Michael's I found they had 12x12 Scrapbook Page frames on sale, so I bought one and then decided I would make her a scrap page. I found all the pictures on Photobucket and basically downloaded them into a Word document, printed them on a nice card-stock and then picked some matching colors and went from here.

This is the finished project in the frame --

I hope that she likes it and I think she will. I just smile and laugh at her for being so taken by the movie and the books! She's a sweetie and I think this will make her smile!

So..that's about it for me...it's been a nice week...my pain level has been okay...the snow is melting and tomorrow it may hit 60 degrees!! WooHOO!!

Happy Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday!!

March came in like a Lion for sure! Thankfully, the snow has stopped, but boy oh boy is it cold! I can NOT wait for Spring and am looking forward to it so much!!

Here are a few pictures from the March Nor'easter we had yesterday! The first one is trying to look out through the snow covered window.

And this is from a different window looking out to the deck..with snow up over the doorway, it's pretty hard to see, because it was very windy and the snow was coming down fast and furious at this time.

We ended up with about a foot or so of light blowing and drifting snow. A few areas in the yard and driveway are almost bare, and then there are some other areas that have 2 and 3 foot drifts. It definitely was a windy day and I'm very happy that it's over!!

Today, the SUN is shining, but it's very cold, but not windy. I'm off now to my Chiro Appointment and looking forward to my adjustment. After that, I'm coming home to work on Jini's "Edward" project and hope to get a good start on things. I am HAPPY to have my house back to myself, as today is first day it's been that way in over two weeks. DH is now back at work and Alex is back in school. It's a nice change and today, I'll actually be able to keep the house clean, ALL DAY!!

A Little About Me

My photo
Northeastern, Massachusetts, United States
Purple is my favorite color and ironically - Purple is the Awareness Ribbon color for Fibromyalgia, a chronic illness I lived with for over 18 years. In, March of 2015, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer which had spread to my brain. I am fighting hard to win this battle and determined to beat it. I have a amazing Oncology Team, along with the LOVE and SUPPORT of all my family and friends! I am a Mom to two grown sons, Alex is now 25 and married to Acacia, my wonderful new "Daughter" and the parents to my precious Grand-Daughter Harper, and Brian amazingly is 30 and now lives in San Diego. My boys are the greatest loves of my life. Hubby, me and our two "Pups", Skye and Zeva, two adorable Chiweenies we rescued in 2012, all live very happily in a tiny coastal town in Massachusetts. We lost our dear "Scoutie", a Purebred Dachshund, in April of 2015. I still miss him and will forever cherish his memory. I am an avid card-maker and totally love every minute I can spend in my craft room. It's become my passion, a wonderful way to relax and is my form or "therapy".
