   A short little post today to wish everyone a very Happy Memorial Day and to remind everyone to take time to remember all those who we have lost and to also remember the wonderful members of the Military who protect and proudly serve our country every day!

Bless their pride and courage.
 Our soldiers are truly a unique group who deserve
to all be remembered and honored always!

   I wanted to share a card I made for Memorial Day!

  This was inspired by this wonderful Digi Image that I bought this from -- Meljen Designs!   I loved it from the very first time I saw it and I think it was very sweet and touching of Melissa to design this wonderful Memorial Day images!     Thank you!!

Have a very Safe, Fun a Happy Memorial Day!

Sunny Sunday!!

    Today will be all about being outside and enjoying the Summer Sun.  We are off soon and will be gone most of the day!  It'll be one of the first days that I spend almost all day outside and I'm looking forward to it.
   We will leave early and go to the Cemetery so I can plant some beautiful flowers for my baby girl...kind of a bittersweet event, but something very special to me.  I always try very hard to make her grave look sweet and wonderful.  It's hard in the hot summer to always make it over to water, but I do my best and have friends who help out too.  It's a lovely little cemetery called "Seaside" and in the area I grew up, so it's very special to me and where I too will someday be buried, with my baby girl.  Hopefully, that won't be for a very long time!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Onto some happier thoughts -- We are also off to an annual Memorial Day weekend cookout and it'll be fun to get together with our friends.  These are friends I have had all my life and are much like family to me.  This family still lives in the same house and on the same street I grew up on, so it's like being home and we always have a good time...very laid back and relaxing, today is a perfect day too...nice and sunny, but not too hot!!       I'm sure I'll be exhausted when we get home, but it'll be nice to have spent a full day outside, something I don't get to do at that much.
   Have a wonderful day....
Happy Saturday!!
  This morning I did all my chores early, so I could spend this afternoon crafting and relaxing.   I am now up in my Craft Room and plan to enjoy the remainder of the day working on Challenges.
   Tomorrow we will be off to the Cemetery to plant flowers and then will be heading off to a cookout, an annual event with friends.  I'm kind of happy that today is kind of cloudy and a good day to get things done inside, so that we can be outside for the rest of the weekend.  I'm looking forward to having some FUN and be outside and it'll be nice to see everyone and spend a few hours in the SUN!
~~~~~~~~~~

   My first card today was created for a few challenges which I will list below and it was a really enjoyable card to make.  It's also one of my all time favorite Magnolia Stamps - MidSummer Tilda which is from the latest Fairy Tale release.  If you want to buy this sweet little image you can find her over on eBay at my friend Lisa's store - HERE!!  Lisa has several Magnolias listed and I bought more from her store this week.  I highly recommend shopping with her too. Her prices are awesome and she ships all her stamps for FREE and super fast too!  She's also a TOP Rated eBay Seller and a fabulous crafter too.

   My card was also created for a Copic Coloring challenge that Lisa is hosting over at Colorful Creations, where she is a member of the Design Team.  If you love challenges, then HOP on over to her Copic group and you'll find some great hints and tips about Coloring with Copics and the fun challenge too!  Lisa also hosts the Card Group at CC and has a challenge posted there too!

     This is my 'Follow Your Heart' card which has been created  for the following challenges!!
  I'm off now to work on another card and hope to be back later to post more!   Have a great day and Happy Coloring!!

Feeling a bit better.....

....Thankfully, I am feeling a lot better this afternoon and the very first thing I wanted to do was finish another challenge card that I had started yesterday.

  This one is for a new challenge that I found for the very first time this week.  It's from a blog called A Crafty Little Place - which is the new home of Die Cuts R Us, the store were I found my very first Lollipop digital stamps, earlier this week.   I linked to the challenge blog from the store and thought it would be fun to join in, since I really LOVE challenges!  Yippee!   This is Challenge 40 and it's a sketch challenge!  If you want to join in, then this is the sketch you'll need for your project.  You can find it HERE, along with all the other challenge details!

   For my very first challenge I decided to use the sweet Avery, as she is probably my favorite Lollipop image, although I have to admit I really LOVE them ALL.

    As you know, I have totally fallen in LOVE with Digi Stamps and this is already one of my favorite lines.  I now own all six of the Lollipop Digis and my latest editions are Ethan and Landon, who I just bought today.
    They are super cute, really fun to color and you can create an adorable fun card in a short time.  I do hope they will continue to add more and more to the digital collection.  You can also find a large selection of these cuties available as Rubber Stamps -- HERE!   ENJOY -- but, be warned -- once you buy ONE....you'll want them ALL!!

     HAVE FUN!!

Happy Friday!!

   Just a quick post today and one card to share!  I'm not feeling so hot today and I think I've been doing a bit too much an dneed a day to rest!

    Happily, I did manage to finish  one card this morning and it's for this week's Silver and Gold Challenge over at Meljen Designs Challenge blog.  I think of Memorial Day as a very special time and as much as I LOVE that it is the first official start of Summer (my favorite season)...I also like to take time to remember those we have lost and those who have served our country.

I created this card for challenge, but also as my
Memorial Day tribute card.

  If you are looking for some fabulous Memorial Day images, then I also high suggest you check out the newest release over at the Meljen store.  It's also a great time to shop, as Melissa is offering 10% off all her images in honor of Memorial Day weekend.  I will be heading there next to buy some more of these wonderful Memorial images and also to take advantage of the sale!

   Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend.  I hope you all find some fun time to enjoy with friends and family and always cherish the Memory of those we have lost!

   Hugs,

Another crafty day!!

....As much as I LOVE Summer...I guess I was NOT quite ready for it to be 90 degrees this early in the season!  And now my darn feet are all swollen again?  GRRR!  But, I think it's simply heat related, as they do NOT seem to hurt like the last time.  It's supposed to cool off tonight an be back down to seasonal temps tomorrow and that'll be wonderful.
   I spent another fun day working on challenge cards and today they were ALL for this week's new challenge over at SSC.  I have come to realize that SSC is my favorite challenge group and the one I enjoy and take part in the most.  I really LOVE the girls there and find it such a fun place...there is no drama or BS and everyone gets along so well, plus the challenges are all very inspiring.  My favorite kind of place and I've truly made some fabulous new friends in this group!  Congratulation to Judy for running such an awesome challenge group. I highly recommend it!  It ROCKS!!

  My first card is for this week's Copic Challenge and this week we had this sketch to use for our project and also has to "color" Brunette hair, as a follow-up to last week's class.
   And this is my submission that I created with this adorable Lollipop Digi Image - Named Ella, , created by the very talented Lori Boyd.  Do you love her...do you want her...if you she can be yours too...simply hop on over HERE and you'll find her and some of her adorable friends all new in digi format!!
  I should note that I feel in love these adorable Lollipop images and was thrilled to find out that Ella and some of her friends are now available in digi format.  However, there are oodles of others available in Rubber too and you can find them over at DCRU.  There are lots of wonderful goodies in the store and I'm sure it's one I'll be shopping at again.  I've already been there twice to buy Ella and some of her friends !  I found this store after meeting  Lori Boyd  over at SSC.  I had admired some of her cards and then quickly learned that these cuties are ALL her wonderful creations.   The Lollipop characters are simply sweet as can be and there are so many wonderful sets to choose from!  ENJOY!!

  And now to my second card which was created for this week's Stamp-N-Scrap challenge, which was also a Sketch card with a twist.  This is the sketch --

   And this is my submission, including the TWIST, which is to add a Handmade flower!  I created m flowers in layers and using a few different techniques!  It was a FUN challenge and always is.

  And my last card today is this one, which I  just finished for this week's Card Corner Challenge, where we had to use these COLORS along with another TWIST to create a new card -- These are the colors --

  And this is my card, include the TWIST, which was to add twine or thread and I used Orange Embroidery Floss on my 'Magic Tilda' card and hope it will be okay?

   Another fun part of this challenge for me was using my new ABS1 along with my Copics to Air brush a background for Miss Tilda.  I'm really enjoying this new tool and think it was a great purchase and a something I will use often!

    I hope you'll stop over and join in the FUN!  There are lots of new prizes and RAK's now be awarded and I've been very luck to win some great things.  I was so happy and truly honored to be the SSC Featured Designer in February and I also won a Distrezz-It- ll last month for the challenges I entered on NSD!  It was a blast and every one in the group is really awesome and a lot of FUN!!

   Goodnight, Sweet Dreams...and as always ---Happy Crafting!!

My Terrific Tuesday!!

....Today has truly turned out to be a Terrific day and it's awesome for me to have such a great day.  I have felt pretty good all day, and have been able to create and accomplish a lot!  I've also had a lot of fun creating cards for challenges and really enjoyed the day!!
    My final project today is a card I created for a new (new to me), challenge called Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I found this challenge while I was over at the Meljen's Design's Challenge Blog.  As it turns out, Meljen is the sponsor of this week's challenge and the lucky winner will win (4) wonderful images from Meljen!!    WOOHOO!   If you want to join in, then hop on over to the blog for more details.
    The sketch for this week, which is Challenge 47, can be found over at the Tuesday Morning Sketch Blog, and I am including a copy of this sketch below.  It's a fabulous sketch and it was created by by Melissa Craig for Tuesday Morning Sketches.
  I started my card with the adorable Night Time Bear image that you can find HERE at the Meljen Store.   If you follow my blog you'll know that I have recently fallen in love with Digital Images and Meljen has quickly become one of my favorite stores.  I've also been taking part in Meljen's own challenges which you can also find HERE!     I was really inspired by the sketch and wanted to be sure to use join in.  I have now added the challenge to my bookmarks and hope to try more in the future.   This is my finished card and I will be posting it over at Meljen and at Tuesday Morning Sketches next.

  And that's going to be it for me today.  It's been a really nice day, but now I am finally wiped out!  I am signing off soon and hopefully will have another great day tomorrow!

   Good Night and as always --- Happy Crafting!!

A new project!!

   After a fun morning of card-making and coloring, I decided to move on to a new challenge and it was to alter a Composition Book.  If you are interested in joining in, you can find it over at Colorful Creations at this LINK
     I have only tried this once before and somehow lost my original set of 'instructions', so I first started by heading over to YouTube and looking for some new hints and tips.  These are some of the best and easiest tutorials I found.  I watched them all for ideas before I began and liked the third** one best!
  I had bought a bunch of these books way back and had planned to create a bunch for little gift.  But, after I tried my first one and for some reason, I kind of forgot about them, so I was happy to try again.  I remember one really good tip my friend Cindy has shared and that was to use a good strong adhesive and to also sand off your edges instead of trying to cut them to the exact measurements.  It works great and is perfect for the rounds corners.  I also love it gives your book a fun 'chic' distressed look.  I also remember that I had used a glue stick my first time, but could NOT find one today, so today I used a Tombow permanent tape runner and it seemed to work well.
  For this book I started with two sheets of 12X12"   Lavender papers in two matching patterns.  I cut two pieces at 9 3/4"  X 6" (for the cover and back) and then took the second contrasting sheet and cut one piece at 9 3/4"  X 4".   I basically followed this VIDEO, and used it as my guide.  I found it was easier to cut the paper to 9 3/4"  rather than 10",  which is much closer to the size of my book and made the sanding a breeze.  The are lots of ways you can 'make it your own' -- Choose your own fun colors and embellishments.  Also be sure to measure your book first, as some may be slightly different in size.  Using this (3) piece style, was so much easier, than when I tried it before and I was very happy with how well it worked for the spine!
    This is my finished book and it only took me about 30 minutes to make it.  A super fun, quick and very easy project and I will now plan to do again.

  After I added adhered my front/back and spine, I picked a piece of matching ribbon and adhered it with Ribbon tape to cover the seams.  It worked out well and was very easy to attach.  There are many ways you can decorate you book, but I kept my very neat and simple.
     My "  Tell your Story"   was a vellum title I had in my stash and I simply adhered it to a piece of lavender cardstock that I cut with a Spellbinder Die.  I added the three mini Prima Flowers with Zip Dry Glue and I was done.

A fun creative day...

  Today, has been a super fun creative day and I hope it continues.  It's a very hot and humid day here in Massachusetts and will be close to 90, which is very warm for May.  But, I'll happily take hot and humid any day over the cold of winter!  Brrr!  Summer is always my favorite and I LOVE IT!   I'm so thankful that Hubby put in our AC units this weekend....just in time.   Right now, I'm very comfy and cool in my craft room and plan to color and create, all day.

  My first creation today is a card that I created using my Copic Markers and a brand new stamp by Elisabeth Bell, called Pen Pal.  This card was created for my friend, Colleen's Copic Coloring Challenge over at Colorful Creations.  If you would like to join in, please hop on over HERE, where you will find all the details for Colleen's first challenge.

  This is my card and for my shades of Blue, I used B91, B93, B95 and B97 to o color the jeans of my wonderful 'PenPal' image.  I also added 'Cream' Prima Roses, that shaded a bit with B91 and added a hint of Stickles in Ruby Blue to create more sparkle.

   My next project for the day was to break out my brand new Copic Air Brush System (ABS1*) and to start learning how to color and paint with it.  I started by first watching some of the new Videos that Suzanne Dean has in her Level 4 Copic Coloring Classes over on Color Me Creative Classroom.  As you all know by know, I am a huge fan of Suzanne's and love her classes and her wonderful talent.  I'm love her style and have learned so much from her in her classes as being a subscriber to her wonderful blog.  She's now become a new friend and I really feel so blessed and lucky to know her and to learn from her!  I love the classes and highly recommend them to all of my friends.

  * I bought my ABS1 system from JoAnn's online last week and with a 50% off promo code was able to buy it for $36.49, which was a fabulous price.  I had it within a few days and also picked up a few Air Cans, that were on-sale at the time.  I hope that DH will buy me a Compressor as part of my Birthday gift and I plan to order this ONE, which has been highly recommended by many of my craft friends.  It's from Harbor Freight and a great price.   I may even have to buy it myself...as I might not be able to wait until August, LOL!  We'll see!!

  I was really excited to see a brand new video this morning and it was perfect, because it was all about creating backgrounds using the ABS system.  I had a blast and these are my first two attempts at using the Copic ABS to create my own backgrounds.

  This first background was done with three different shades of blue.  I then used a Spellbinder die to cut out the background and colored this cute little image, from Pink Gem Designs.  Next I cut out the colored imaged and adhered it to the background.  This will be the start of a cute little boy card and I was super easy and fun to paint.

  This is a close up of the same 'Andy' image --

   This is the second background I created and for this one I used the 'Flourish' Spellbinder Impressabilitie die that I bought this weekend at my LSS.  I used a combination of three colors and matched it this 'Chloe' image which I had already colored.

   Woohoo!   This is sooooo fun and really easy to use.  I have so many dies and stencils that the possibilities are truly endless.  I've also started buying all of my flowers and embellishments in white and then can use my Copics and ABS to color them any way I want.  I think for me, this is a wonderful tool and one that I will use often.  It's. very easy to set-up and so far, I'm still on my very first can of air and it's the small one that came in the kit.

    I'm off to play and create some more and so glad to be feeling back to myself again!!! YIPPEE!  Today is a great day....I'm feeling well, the sun is shining, it's warm and I'm happily spending my day being creative!   LIFE IS GOOD!!!

A nice day!!

  Today, the weather is absolutely wonderful...very sunny and warm...a perfect Summer type day and I love it.
   After my big shopping spree...I am pretty sore today, so most of my day was spent simply relaxing and trying to rest my body.  I also did finish stamping all my images for a Swap I am in and also had a nice call with Lisa after I realizing I had ordered a Magnolia Stamp from her, that I already own.  LOL!   If anyone is looking for adorable Magnolia Stamps -- Lisa has quite a few currently listed in her eBay store and they ALL are available with Free Shipping.  Most of them are from the new Fairy Tale line, which is my favorite.  Click Here to go directly to her store and check out these adorable images.  A couple of my favorites are Princess Tilda, Longing Tilda and Mid-Summer Tilda.   I was so excited to find out that Lisa was selling them and will be sure to check out her store often!  The prices are great for me and the FREE Shipping is a huge bonus, to me.
   After I talked to Lisa, I started working on a new challenge card using 'Loves Me' Tilda, another of my favorites, because it has always reminds me of Summer.   This is for the Summer-Theme Challenge over at Magnolia Stamp Lovers and this is the card I am submitting.

   I think that will probably be the one card I complete today....I'm just wiped out, but one day or being stiff and sore is worth all the bargains I did buy yesterday.  I'm also slowly putting thing away too
   Oh and one last thing -- Special Congratulations to
'MELANIE'  who was the WINNER of my Card Sketch Challenge over at Colorful Creations.   I am very happy that you won and want you to know that your RAK Surprise Package was mailed out today!   Please come back and join in on more of the challenges soon.  Lisa will be taking over the Card Group and my friend, Colleen will be running the Copic Group.  I know they will both do an excellent job and I'm excited to get back to more crating and hopefully willk do that tomorrow!!

Today's Challenge cards!!

  After my wonderful shopping spree, I didn't have a ton of energy left, but I did work on two cards this afternoon.   I had hoped to work on more, but at this point I am already wiped out and still have to put away more of my new "stuff".
    The good news is that I did complete two challenge cards and they are both for challenge over all Colorful Creations.

   My first card is for this week's  Color Combo Challenge which you can find HERE!   The colors for this week are Pink, Black and White, all colors that I really like and colors that I also think work very well together.  I stared with some white cardstock, which I used to create my card base.  Next, I picked out of piece paper with a black and white pattern and cut that down to be the front of my card.  I then cut a smaller piece of a pink, black and white patterned paper, for another layer, and one additional layer of light pink paper for my third layer.   I then punched five small circles from White Glitter paper and added a pretty Prima Jewelry to the center circle.  I then used my Copic Markers to color white pearl bling to bright pink and black, to go with the them  I adhered these to the glitter circles and my card was done.  It's was a fun card and very easy card to make.

  The next challenge was to create a card for a new card challenge, which you can find Here!!  This is Lisa's Challenge - 'This Challenge consists of making a card that has a critter on it with a message from your critter'!  What is a critter, any living creature other than human, animals, insects, fish, reptiles, etc. LOL! ".   Sounds pretty good to me, and since I have the new Create A Critter - Criicut Cartridge, I knew it would work perfectly.  I created this cute little bee and decided to name my card - 'Just Buzzin' By' and I incorporated that saying  into my Sentiment. This is my card and I also again used my Copic Markers to color my whit pearl bling, yellow to match my little bee.

  And that's it for me today!  My eyes are very tired and I'm HOPING this is NOT filed with typos.  I plan to be back to doing MORE cards and challenges tomorrow!

Have a great nice and Happy Crafting!!

PS:  Hi Anary -- You are making me laugh and smile a lot today!  :)  THANKS!!

My Craft Store Haul!!!

    I had such a great time and I am so pleased with all my goodies.  As you may have read, I went to my local scrap store today for their ANNUAL Yard Sale came home with 4 bags of fantastic bargains.  Not only did the store have fabulous prices, but here were vendors and other crafters who were also selling some of their stash.
   Here are more picture of the goodies I found!  My grand total in the Scrap Store was $38.21, which was shocking!  I was sooo excited to get so much and the prices were wonderful.  They only have a sale like this twice a year.  The annual Yard Sale in May and the Black Friday Sale...both are well worth the trips, the line and the crowds.   I spent another $15 +/- more buying goodies from the other vendors and sellers.  All in ALL a ton of wonderful new product for under $60.
   These are the stamps I bought...a nice selection of wooden and acrylic stamps.   There are 10 sets of Acrylic Stamps and 23 wooden stamps.  The original prices were still on them all and the lowest was $4.00.  I paid $25-$50 cents for each.  I bought some in duplicates to use for RAK's and Blog Candy --

 This is all the new paper I bought, it was all 10 cents a sheet, and I also bought two sets for a gal outside with 30 sheets per pack for $1 each!!  This stack (All from today is just over 3"   tall)!  I LOVE PAPER!!

  These were the inks, glitter, alcohol Inks and misc "bling" that I bought!

  And these are all rub-on, stickers, more bling and all kinds of assorted goodies.
  It's totally fabulous and I am still stunned at how little I spent.  The most expensive thing I bought was $3.00 and that was a new Fiskars punch.  Everything else ranged from 10 cents to $1.00 and I had a couple of things for $2.   A super day for me!!

My Super Sunday at the Scrap Store!!

   WOOHOO!   Today is day of the huge annual "Yard Sale" at my local scrapbook store and it was fabulous, as always.
   I was up bright and early at 6AM,  to head up to the store by 7AM.  The store itself opened at 8AM and had excellent deals.   There were severls bins of stickers/rub-on and bling all at 4 for $1, loads and loads of rubber and acrylic stamps with prices from $25 cents to $4.  Tons of chipboard pieces, embellishments, paints, glitter, punches... and so much more for 25 cent and up and all the designer and patterned paper was 10 or $1.00, a fabulous price.
      Here are a couple pics I took of us waiting to get into the store at about 7:45AM.  The line was long, but moved fast and there was "plenty" of goodies to choose from.

  You can also see some of the tables that were set up outside by vendors and crafters who cam eot sell at the Yar Sale, which started about 8:30.  I had a great time and bought a ton of stuff, almost 200 sheets of papers, several new stamps and stamp sets, bling, glitter, alcohol inks, and so much more and my total bill, incuding my yard sale goodies was under $50.  I have four bags overflowing with "new" stuff and I'll be sure to post more pics tomorrow or alter today, after I sort it all out.
     Below are two more pictures I took inside this store.  You can see from these, just how packed it is in 'sale' room.  It's actually standing room only and very hectic for the first hour or so, but then things quiet down and you can take your time and find all kinds of great deals.   The large table in the middle is where you find all the 12X12 papers.  I bought a lot of Basic Grey, My Mind's Eye. Prima and Imagination.  There was a huge selection, and I love PAPER!!  Plus, who can past up buying these great designer brands for only 10 cents a sheet!  WOOHOO!

  I'm off now to go through all my bags and take time to look as all my new things.  I'm also going to be working on a card challenge and then resting!   I was there for almost 3 hours, but it was worth the trip and the savings are incredible!!

A Little About Me

My photo
Northeastern, Massachusetts, United States
Purple is my favorite color and ironically - Purple is the Awareness Ribbon color for Fibromyalgia, a chronic illness I lived with for over 18 years. In, March of 2015, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer which had spread to my brain. I am fighting hard to win this battle and determined to beat it. I have a amazing Oncology Team, along with the LOVE and SUPPORT of all my family and friends! I am a Mom to two grown sons, Alex is now 25 and married to Acacia, my wonderful new "Daughter" and the parents to my precious Grand-Daughter Harper, and Brian amazingly is 30 and now lives in San Diego. My boys are the greatest loves of my life. Hubby, me and our two "Pups", Skye and Zeva, two adorable Chiweenies we rescued in 2012, all live very happily in a tiny coastal town in Massachusetts. We lost our dear "Scoutie", a Purebred Dachshund, in April of 2015. I still miss him and will forever cherish his memory. I am an avid card-maker and totally love every minute I can spend in my craft room. It's become my passion, a wonderful way to relax and is my form or "therapy".
