WONDERFUL News! Happiness all around!

Hi everyone !   Sorry that I am been MIA for awhile, but very excited to be here today and hopee that before long I'll be back to my "normal" activities and routine in life.   It's been so crazy lately, so believe me, I can't wait to have time to simply sit down, create and post!  It was a JOY to work on a card yesterday and I'm happy to be here to share it with you today!   I was all set to post it late yesterday afternoon, but then found out some really HAPPY news that took my focus off of that for a bit!   It's all good news and all about a sweet little lost dog, who had been missing in my area for the last 11 days!!

I am SO happy to announce that  little "Benji" was finally found late yesterday afternoon, with two young boys who didn't even know he was missing.  Luckily, he seemed to be drawn to them and they were all in a little "fenced" in playground.   One of the many amazing community members that had been looking for him, received a phone call from a friend, who thought she may have seen him with these boys at the area...then very quickly a gal who lives nearby went there and sure enough, it was Little Benji, who battled out there all alone for 11 days in the the rain and cold!   Thank goodnes for our rather 'mild' weather, otherwise this outcome could have been so much worse!

Benji - Photo from his "Lost" flyer!!

...and Benji Today....a bit thinner,
but otherwise looking awesome!!

He is only 10 months old, and is brand new to this area.   The very first day here, he "bolted" out of his new yard and the search was on!   Unfortunately and for reasons I don't know if I will ever understand, his "new family" did not work with any of the man volunteers who spent countless hours looking for him.   They would not put their phone number on his lost poster, they closed down their Facebook page and totally shut out all those trying to help.   It was ALL so sad...and very upsetting....!  I tried to reach out and tell them about all the available resources I knew about and sadly, they never responded.  That's when a local person stepped up, found a lost dog white, where you could 'print' flyers and filled it out with what info we had.   We all kept in touch through a local Lost Dogs Facebook page and he was sighted every day.   One gal, (Cynthia), who is part of a local rescue, even volunteered to have her number posted to the Flyer, along with one of our local Vet offices.   I am so thankful to them both for caring so MUCH.    THANK YOU~~!

Granted, we do not know both sides of the story, but ALL we were told is that the "they" the family, felt "attacked" by some people in the very beginning?  Why or how this happened, I have NO clue and so no sign on this?   Even so, it's old news NOW and I don't' care...I ONLY care about Benji and am delighted he is Safe.  Why his family, never posted flyers or used the outsources offered to them is beyond me.  I know IF either of my dogs were EVER lost, I would be SO grateful for ANY and ALL help...but again...I do NOT know what they were thinking of WHO they are?   ALL we know is we all felt SHUT out, despite all we did to help find this sweet baby.   This was by FAR the most upsetting and saddest story I have ever been part of and I PRAY I never have to feel that way ebery again.     That part broke my heart and still does and I hope some day, they will explain WHY they did NOT help us and why they shut us ALL out?  ALL everyone wanted was to save him?   He escaped from their yard within hours of arriving here?  He did NOT even have a collar on, nor was he on a leash?     Again, the circumstances are ALL so confusing, but ALL that really matters to ME is that he is safe and SOUND!

I have now put that behind me and will continue to PRAY he is safe and sound.  He was seen bya local vet and other than needing to eat and put on some weight, and take antibiotics for a minor bladder infection, he is doing great.  He spend last might in a Foster Home, to the best of my understanding....we are NOT sure if and when he will be reunited with this family?  Many people do NOT want him going back, and are fearful for his long term life and safely.   I admit, felt that way too, but I am trying to learn the whole story and then decide.   ALL I want is to know that he will be SAFE, cherished and given lots of LOVE...forever!   I pray that if they decide they still want him, they will be sure to fix their fence and not allow him to be out alone in an area when he can escape.  I hope they buy him a nice collar and leash and USE it, until their yard is safe for him and until he has time to bond and know them.  I would be happy to buy him a leash or collar, if needed!   I can't begin to express how happy I am to know he's safe.  It was such a JOY to take down the the LOST DOG flyers that I had posted this morning and to know he slept in a warm home last night.   If you LOVE pets like me, please keep him in your thoughts and HOPE is NOW safe and sound forever!!   My special thanks to everyone who has been a part of his story...You are all Heroes and I do HOPE we can all do something special for the two boys, who played such a huge role in his rescue.  Clearly we was comfy with them and had RUN form every other person, who tried hard to save him.  Thanks also to Rhonda, one of the gals who searched and was the one to FINALLY find them with the boys. Thanks also to the Rescue for keeping him safe and to Dr. Lockwood for examining him.   And a huge thank you to ALL who cared and worked so hard to find him....you guys ROCK!!!

And for some more awesome news -- a deal local friend, Lisa aka "That Nutty Redhead", has now met the goal she has been trying to raise through KickStarter to make her Gourmet Nut Business a HUGE Success.   Her goal was met this morning, just three days before it would have ended and she would have lost her chances!!   I am SO happy to be one of the many who Pledged for her and can't wait to see the new packaging that she needed to have designed to have her "delicious" nut added as a product at Whole Foods....yes, that's right, "Whole Foods" wants to sell her nuts and will be, now that she successfully raised the funds needed for her product packaging.  You can read all about Lisa and her amazing story HERE!  WOOHOO!!   Just goes to show that there truly are A LOT of caring people out there and I'm so happy that so many stepped out to save Benji and also make Lisa's goal a reality~~~ !!  YOU all are awesome and I am LIVING all this very HAPPY news!   I am so honored and proud to live in such a caring community ---!  I am also thrilled that people from all over have helped Lisa, even people she has never met --- You are all awesome!!

SO...as you can tell, I could NOT be feeling HAPPIER today and it's a JOY to have such amazing and great news to share!

On a more personal note, I'm still battling with Fibro and hip pain and can hardly wait for my hip surgery to be behind me.  I'm also super happy that I'll have a chance to see Brian, when home comes home !  I had a fabulous Christmas and want to say special thanks to Alex and Acacia for hosting us on Christmas morning.  Another shout out to Patty and Mike for a great time at their home Christmas Eve and we will look forward to dinner with them, along with our my BFF, Julie on New Year's Eve!

Lastly, and as started to tell you at the very beginning of this long and HAPPY post, I did manage to make a new card, first one in ages again and it was totally inspired by the latest "Cas(E) This Sketch Challenge, which you'll find Here.   I loved the sketch and as soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to make a card, using one of my brand new "HUGS" dies, that I just bought from PTI. -- "Hugs" is my all time favorite sentiment and I was trilled to add the set, along with this matching stamp set to my stash.

CTS #104

My "Hugs" Card

As you can see I not only used my favorite sentiment, but also used my favorite color "Purple" of course.   I am hoping to get back to even more card-making this coming week and am actually excited to that the Holidays are almost all over, so that I will have lots of free time.  I still need to complete my new room (organizing) and also finish the major purge that I have been working on for months.  I have managed to get a LOT done and am VERY happy that my for,er craftroom, is back to being our upstairs Den.  The painting is all done, we have new blinds and window treatments and a few other things all done.  Santa bought me a nice 32" TV that I'm looking forward to using while I am recovering.  It's basically to use for Movies and Internet only and I already have watched some of my favorite crafty You-Tubes videos on it...!  I also ordered a wireless keyboard for it and we think we'll may add a Netflix to that TV -- Time will tell.  Right now we're using the free trials and need to decide which is best.  I don't' think I want to deal with adding another DirecTV cable or another box...to me it's not worth the extra charges and I think I'l be quite happy with all I can do using the WiFi Internet options!

Sure HOPE you all had a very nice Christmas and that you also have lots of HAPPINESS in your life!   I'm thrilled that 2014 seems to be ending in a very happy way~WOOHOO!!!!!!

Merry Merry Christmas....

.... We are happy to stop by and take a moment to WISH you all a Magical Christmas!  I hope everyone has a wonderful time with family and friends!  I am looking forward to a very nice, yet casl and relaxing day.

Sharing some pictures of my "Babies" all deck out in their new Christmas attire.  Starting with Mr. Scout, my eleven year old boy, who is SO mad at me for putting him in his "I LOVE Santa" sweater...he looks so cute, but hates any clothes ~  he would NOT even look at ME or the camera....

And next are his little Sisters, starting with Skye, who was the first we adopted, when she was 14 weeks old.   She's a little Chiweenie and is VERY attached to her Mom.   When I went out to San Diego to visit Brian and Meghan, she would not go upstairs (to bed) for the first three nights.  She stayed downstairs, in her favorite spot on the couch, waiting for me to come back.  I felt so bad, but luckily after that, she did fine~~

And our third pup, is Zeva, who we adopted the day she and Skye turned 9 months old.  Once I realized she still had never found her Forever home, it knew it was meant to be with us.  She's the tiny girl of the family and is a Daddy's' girl.   She loves to sit on the couch with Hubby at night, but is also loves me too.   They both love their older brother and will often snuggle up next to him in his bed.  They act like little Mom's and take care of him, when he's not feeling so hot.....

These Pups and my two Sons -- will always be the "babes" in my life and I will LOVE and cherish them forever!   No one can make me smile or as happy as they can!!   It's the best LOVE in the whole world -- that of a Mom and Children -- even the furry kind~~

Hugs to YOU all -  from us ALL!

Hope Santa is very good to you and you have a
wonderful and very loving Christmas!!

Happy Mail ! It's a good thing...

It sure has been awesome to have a couple of good days, so that I can create.  I miss it SOOO much when I'm not feeling up to it.   Today, I have two new cards to share and hope tomorrow I'll have time for me.   I know that that the next two weeks, are going to really become super busy as we get closer to Christmas.  I still need to get my Christmas shopping done -- wrap up my gifts, package up the mail those going to the kids in Cali and then begin on a bit of Christmas baking!

So, how are YOU all doing?   Have you finished shopping?  Are you close to being ready and are you already planning your baking and cooking?   I used to be so MUCH better at this and would have ALL my shopping done bright and early---most year even before Thanksgiving, which made it so much less hectic, I loved that and it gave me a LOT to time to actually enjoy Christmas...but now, I'm slower and it takes me forever to find nice gifts for my family.  But, that's okay -- I do always get it done and I'm sure this year will be no different.  And since we are not doing any entertaining here, I am thankful that I can take this year off from decorating.   My house is currently torn apart, with new floors being put in and a painter here this week.  Needless to say, there is no way, I'll have time or the energy to decorate and with furniture and boxes all moved about the house, there really is NO point.  Let's HOPE that next year, I can get back to that?

On a happy note, I still am sending out all my own handmade cards and we do have some pretty lights outside, and I've been listening to Christmas music for days, which does make me feel festive and happy.   I have iTunes on my computer and iPad, so there is always music on and I today I'm enjoying listening to it while I create.

I am very happy to have two new cards to share and the first one today was created for the the "Card Chain Challenge"that I happily sign up for each month.  I do HOPE that I am not ruining the surprise for the gal who will receive this card, but I'm pretty sure she is not one of my regular followers, so I think I am okay?    I also should mention that the "Card Chain/Challenge" is open to ALL and is really a fun way to swap cards with cardmakers all over the world.   It is hosted every month by the fabulous Deborah Nolan and you can find all the details on her BLOG!   I also would like to once again give her a special shout out and say "Thank You" for the all the time and effort she puts into this fun card exchange.

Each month, there is a new sign up and Deb, also provides us with a wonderful variety of ideas and inspiration for our cards.  There is always a sketch, a color palette, some fun techniques and more choices of themes -- lots of ideas for all.   And as an extra added bonus, Deb has now brought in monthly sponsors --- giving all the players a chance to win a fabulous prize from some of our favorite companies.   The sponsor for the January challenge is Mama Elephant and I'm sure you all know them well.  For me, the best part is receiving the cards in the mail each month.  I keep ALL my cards and have a wonderful collection from all over the world!    I highly recommend you hop on over and sign up.  There is a new sign up every month and it's truly a LOT of fun.

For today's card I combined a few of the inspirational ideas and started with the Sketch, along with some of the pretty colors -- including a lovely shade of "Violet" -- YAY!

My Card

My card was also fun and easy to create.  I started by picking out some cardstock and papers in the the colors I wanted and then created my card base, using my favorite "Mixed Pool" layering papers by Hero Arts.   I then chose a border stamp from the On Point set by Mama Elephant to create the border on the left side on my card, using Hero's Soft Lilac" shadow ink.   I then cut a thin strip of Periwinkle patterned paper and added that on top of the border.  I used some light violet patterned paper for my sentiment base and stamped on my "Happy Mail" sentiment in Versamark and then heat embossed it using Hero's White Embossing Powder.   To finish off my card I added some matching sequins and one of my favorite "Itty Bitty bows"!

Before I show you MY next card, I wanted to share a very special card that just arrived in my mailbox today.  I first saw this card, over on Kimberly's blog "Wienerhoneymooners". when she posted it on her blog - HERE!   And, being the owner of three lovable (a Senior Purebred Dachshund and two sweet little Dachshund/Chihuahua Mixes "Chiweenies),  I immediately fell in love with it.  I told Kimberly I adored it and she later asked me for my address and told me she was going to send it to me.   I totally forgot about that, until I opened it today!   WOOHOO!   What a wonderful surprise... the PERFECT way to brighten my day.  I also have to tell you that in person, this card is even MORE adorable.  I just LOVE everything about it and it's a card I'll keep in my private card collection forever.   It also goes to show just how much cards mean to me and why I love this hobby so much.   This also shows how many kind and caring people there are in this world and Kimberly is ONE of the those sweethearts, who I am so lucky to have met, all through our shared love of card-making.    Her wonderful "Random Act of Kindness", truly touched my heart!   Thank you Kimberly!     Here is a photo of the card "courtesy" of Kimberly's blog -- Isn't it adorable!!    I LOVE IT!

I'll tell you, it really does make my day to receive cards and that one is something special and one that I feel very luck to own!   WOW!!

My next card is a sweet little "Christmas Card" that I created today after being inspired by the new "Bling it Up" Challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge Blog.

This card features a few of my favorite things....the first is this adorable little "Deco Tree" which is actually a die cut from the SSS Exclusive line.  I have used it quite a bit this year and it always makes a nice card.   The second is the "Winter Wonders" Sentiment Stamp, by Hero Arts, that is part of this collection that I simply adore.  I bought this set as soon as it hit the market and have also used each of the stamps many times, the handwriting, (by Heather Ruwe), is my favorite part and I do hope Hero Arts will have Heather design more sentiment stamps in the future!

And that's it for today folks -- I am still looking for some "sunshine", we have not seen any sun in days and this miserable gray weather is certainly getting very old.  Today, the rain has turned to snow flurries, but thankfully it's not sticking or causing any travel worries!    I do HOPE the we'll see the sun soon?   I'm dreaming of seeing something like this?    How about YOU?

Sweet Dreams!!!!!!!

A special Christmas request....

I am posting this to all my dear card-making friends and also ask that you please share this request with everyone you know.

It's a special request from a dear little three year old, who is battling childhood Leukemia.  Her name is Lauryn Newsome and I'm sure some of you will remember the card drive and blog hop and we hosted for her and her amazing family earlier this year.  Lauryn has been a super little patient, and everyone we are thrilled at who well she has responded to her treatments.  Lauryn is currently in remission and the maintenance phase of her cancer treatments.  This link will take you to her Facebook page, where you can keep up to date on her treatments and daily life -- "Fight on Little Lauryn".

Photo: This is Lauryn! She was diagnosed with B cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in March 2014, and placed on a high risk treatment plan in May. She has been in remission since August and just entered her Maintenance phase of treatment thus week at age three. Please go to her page, Fight On Little Lauryn to see how she's doing and cheer her on!!
Photo shared from  Lauryn's Facebook Page

At the time of her card drive a special private Post Office box was set up for all her cards and wonderful gifts.  Now, we would LOVE to have you help fill the box once again with Christmas Cards, at her own request.   She loves to go to her box and is always is sad when it's empty, so let's try and keep it full for a long time.

When I read the post about her asking for cards, I was happy to share it on my Facebook page and also wanted to share it her.  It would mean so much to this sweet little "Princess" to find mail in her special box.   Kindly send cards to:

Miss Lauryn Newsome
P. O. Box 172
Thornburg, VA 22565

I also want to take a moment to thank everyone who has graciously sent cards in the past and encourage you all to continue to do so.  What better gift than to put a smile of this sweet little girl's face.

We all look forward to the day that Lauryn will be cured and will have completed all of her treatments.  She's done awesome and been a superstar patient, and that's a JOY!

I'm back....well kinda??

....and so happy to be feeling a bit better ~  It's a joy to be showing you my two latest cards and even more fun to be back at my craft desk again.

It seems that my Fibromyalgia and Degenerative Joint Disease have really decided to kick my butt this year!  Grrrrr!   And if they alone are not bad enough to deal with,  I found out recently that I need to have hip replacement surgery, oh JOY!   Not !  Nope that was not happy news for me and it took a few days to sink in.  Since then, I have had time to accept it and my surgery is now scheduled to be done in late February.   I figured it was best to try and wait until the worst of winter is over, so that when I can get out and starting walking again, it will be in the nicer Spring weather....the last thing I'd need to go out and fall in the snow and ice....!   I also had a Cortisone injection last week and thought it would be helpful, which is was for about a day, but then again, we've had nothing but miserable cold, gray, damp and wet weather, so I need to give it time.  The one day I did feel relief was the one sunny and milder day we had -- I am hopeful once we get out of the miserable weather pattern, things will be better...even if only for a short time!  I'll take any good days I can get.

And speaking of some good news, I was totally thrilled when my son (Brian), emailed me to say he was coming "Home" for a visit in February, just before my surgery.   Yippee!  I am so excited about that and can hardly wait for him to be here --- I only WISH  Meghan could come too, but with them and their crazy and very hectic life, she can't.  But, she will be flying through this Spring before she heads off to Milan, Italy to study for for that Semester.  She's a super girl, so talented and bright, currently pursuing her Masters in Design and Architecture.  Love that girl, as much as if she were my very own daughter, she's an wonderful daughter in law, for sure!  When it comes to my Sons and their "Girls", I am truly very blessed.

But, when it comes to my health, that is NOT the case...it's life for me to live with a chronic illness and something I've long learned to deal with, I just hate when it takes away any of the GOOD Stuff in life and this time, it forced me to have to leave the a2z Scrapbookign Design Team, which was something I really had a hard time giving up.   I already miss it a lot and also really miss the daily interaction with our team, but I know it's for the best and maybe in time, I can go back to being part of that team again.   Today, I actually have a card I made especially for their December Challenge, where the theme is all about "Watercoloring" one of my favorite techniques to use in card-making.

This is my card for the challenge and it features a sweet little Hero Stamp- Pen and Ink Christmas Tree, that I picked up this past weekend, at my LSS.  They had a big sale on all the Christmas products and had bundled up some cute little kits.  I loved this one, which also came with white card bases and some Gold Delicata Ink.

This was really and easy and fun card to make.  I started by inking up the tree stamp with Versamark ink and then added some of my favorite "Liquid Platinum" embossing powder and heat set the tree.  I then used my little Hero Watercolors Wheel along with an Aqua Pen to add lots of green and blue colors around my tree.  I also misted on some "Perfect Pearls" mist and again heat set it all to try.  My Winter Wishes sentiment is also from Hero and from this "Stamp/Die Set".   Once that piece was nice and die cut it into a banner shape, using this wonderful die set from My Favorite Things.  I then created by background panel using some Snow layering paper and a new snowflake themed embossing folder, I also found at my LSS on Sunday.  I created my card base with some blue "glitter" cardstock and then added on my layers.  To finish off this card I added on an assortment of pearls and gems, also from Hero Arts!  Yes, I do LOVE Hero Arts and buy almost ALL my Hero Goodies from the a2z Store -- it's the best!

Oh and speaking of Sunday at my LSS, I took a super fun Memory Box card making class.  Loved the cards we made, and only WISH I had remembered to take some pics, before I mailed them out. OOPS!   My craft photography station is currently "non existent" since we have painters here working on that room, it will be my new upstairs den and my "recovery" space, after I have my surgery!  Needless to say, between just moving to my new room, and not having it done yet, then having all this health crap going on...things are a bit messy here for me...but things could always be worse, so I'm trying to ignore the disaster for now!   I do, however, have this picture that was in the store Newsletter!   In person, these cards are so MUCH prettier.....!  Love them!

I also had an awesome day on Saturday and was very excited to take part in the Scramble that Natalie hosted that afternoon.   She had a great theme, where we were asked to use some of our favorite "Older" Hero Stamps to create a new "Christmas/Holiday" card.   I admit that I have a LOT of favorites and the stamp I chose, "Shari's Tree #3" is not very old, but I love it and knew it would make a fun card....easy too, which was perfect for me.

Here is my card and it was one I loved making...I colored with my Copics and a Wink of Stella and then simply added it to some pretty layers, all on a matching card base.  My final touch was adding the die cut "Love" sentiment and a sweet "Itty bitty bow".   These little bows always receive lots of compliments and requests to know where I find them.   I buy them from "The Paper Temptress", a great store where I also shop for all my Copic Coloring cardstock and a wonderful variety of other fabulous designer cardstocks.    It's a store I highly and happily recommend, if you are shopping there, tell Patricia, the owner, that I sent you.

Oh, and the best news EVER --- I won that Scramble that afternoon and won a $25 gift card to another of my favorite online stores -- Simon Says Stamp!!!  I was so excited and since that had been the first card I manged to make in days, it was such a blast to also be the lucky winner!  Thank you Natalie for the fun Scramble and the super prize!  Perfect for me!  No doubt, I'll spend it in days....!  I am a huge fan of the SSS Exclusive Line and will be happy to have this for my next purchase!   YAY!!

And speaking of Simon Says Stamp, I am also entering this "Love" card to their latest "Christmas/Holiday" challenge, over on their Wednesday Challenge blog.  (just in the nick of time)!

That's it for today!!   I am looking forward to the next couple of months hopefully flying by, so that I can have this surgery, recovery and get back outside in some warm Spring Sunshine!   I can hardly wait for that day to be here!  Come on Spring!!

Happy December!!!!

....It's hard to believe that another month has flown by --- I just HOPE the rest of the winter goes this fast?  For some reason, the time up until Christmas always seems to go by quickly, but once we get to January, it seems like the next few months - drag on forever!!  Not so good for this girl, who doesn't like cold or snow and one who LOVES lots of warm sunshine and hot summer days.....!  Thank goodness for this wonderful hobby, which is the perfect way for me to pass those awful days, when you do NOT even want to venture out into the cold --- Brrrr!!

Today, I have a little "Sneak Peek" to share with you all.  It's a card I created for our brand new "Watercolor" themed Challenge which starts today over on the a2z Scrapbooking Blog.   Please be sure to stop by and see all the wonderful inspiration the Design Team has created to share with you.

I had a great time making this card and I always love the look that "Watercolors" can add to any card.   I find them really fun to create with and love that Hero Arts has their wonderful little "Watercolor Wheel" set, which is a great set for those of your just starting to work with Watercolors. You can find everything you need to create a card jut like mine, over at the a2z Store.   I have a full product list linked for your over on the a2z Blog !   I had so much fun with this card and hope you'll have blast creating you own Watercolor projects for the challenge.

Are you ready?

.... for Thanksgiving, that is!    At least for those of us living in the US that's the big day we'll be celebrating tomorrow!   And for me, it's going to be a quite, relaxing low key day, since Hubby and I will be going out for our Thanksgiving dinner.    Once we realized that I'd be cooking for only two of us this year, (boring and far too much work), we made plans to go out and I'm actually looking forward it!  Yay!   We'll be heading to a lovely seaside restaurant, where I plan to enjoy a delicious seafood dinner, which is more is far better than the traditional turkey dinner, in my book.   I'm actually delighted to have seafood this year and already drooling over having some of my favorites -- scallops and haddock!  Oh joy!

I'm also pretty happy that I won't have all the work to do either and can use some extra rest, with all the craziness going on lately.   Sure, I'll miss my kids, like crazy and wish everyone was here, but I know that's not possible, so I'm going to enjoy my day and relax!   Not having to cook that huge meal, will be one thing I will not miss, especially since it's not my favorite.  I'm sure we'll roast a turkey sometime over the weekend, but that'll be very easy and stress free!  I'm looking forward to a nice day and hope to start my Christmas Shopping later in the afternoon or evening.  I love to shop for the deals and also love doing almost all my shopping online, which is a JOY when you don't want to fight the crowds and traffic at the Malls!

Today, I have a fun new post for your over at the a2z Scrapobooking Blog as well as new card that was inspired by our "November Challenge"?  Here is a little sneak peek !

I also want to invite you ALL to stop back by on Friday, for a special and very fun event we have planned as our way to Celebrate -- "Black Friday" and the big Thanksgiving weekend of shopping, that is so popular these days.   We have a fun contest we'll be hosting over the weekend and will also have a special promo code for your shopping pleasure, which you'll find posted on Thanksgiving Morning in Zoeys post!     Be sure to head on over to the a2z Blog at 8 AM on both days for all the exciting details on both events  -- !   I think you'll really enjoy what we have lined up for you.  \

My thanks to my DT Teamie "Kymona" - who will be posting all the BIG "Black Friday" announcement over on the a2z Blog for you on Friday.   It was a pleasure to work with Kymona to put together the fun contest we planned for ou and truly HOPE it you'll play along!!  A second shout out to Zoey for posting for us tomorrow, another post you will not want outon --  especially if you like saving money, while shopping at the a2z Store -- Hint Hint!!

Hey.....!

.... this is a short little post where I'm here to share two fum new cards that I created yesterday as part of the latest 90 Minute Scramble over at the Hero Arts Flickr Group.   I totally LOVE these scrambles and try to play in EVERY one.

Yesterday's scramble was hosted by Theresa, (one of the Group Members), and she came up with the fun theme of using "Snow" (in any way) on our projects.  And as always, since this is a Hero Arts challenge, it's always a requirement to use some of your favorite Hero Product.  To anyone who may be new, the Scrambles are hosted every two weeks and members of the Group all take turns in playing Hostess for each one.  I have had had the pleasure to being a hostess three time, and totally enjoyed that, almost as much as playing along!!

I was thrilled to manage to get two cards completed in the 90 minutes and I'm happy to share them both you here, started with this one, which was the first card I completed.

All the details and products I used for this card can be found with my my Photostream version, which you can see HERE!

And this is my second card, and you'll find all the details for this one, again in my Photostream, at this LINK.

The second card turned out to be my favorite and I think it was the combo of the adorable "blinged" out little Tree, along with the sweet little "Snowy Hills" that I created with my wonderful Mama Elephant dies!   Hope it brings some JOY to you, when you see it.

If you would like to play in the next Scramble, it's already been announced and you'll find all the details HERE!   This link, will take you to the "Master List", which shows all the scrambles that have been completed as well as the themes used!

Before I go, I want to encourage everyone who played yesterday, to also take the time to enter ALL your projects to our current -- Anything Goes - Using Hero Arts Products -- Challenge over on the a2z Scrapbooking Blog.   We still have another week to go and I can't wait to see all the new projects you too can create and upload to our Inlinkz Gallery!   ALL the cards from the challenge, will be perfect, as they were created with Hero Products and that makes every one eligible!   Come on over and play along.

Anything Goes copy

Today, I am working on some new projects that will be part of our next "Challenge" which will be posted on December 1st.  It's a theme I love and one that I think is going to be VERY popular!   We also have some fun activities lined up for you starting on "Thanksgiving Day", which is coming up on Thursday.  I'll be posting more hints on our FUN events over a the a2z Blog on Wednesday and your'l find posts ALL week from each of the DT Members!    Be sure to check out our blog daily for wonderful inspiration for all the super creative DT members!    Have a wonderful Sunday evening and a great start to the upcoming Holiday Week.

I'll be off tomorrow, as I'm finally seeing an Orthopedic Specialist, which I hope will lead to more treatments that will help alleviate some horrible hip issue, I've been dealing with for the last several weeks.  I'm NOT exactly looking forward to this, but do HOPE it will be worth my time and effort and since it's taken weeks to get in, I'm very happy it's finally here!   I do hope to be back online with new projects and cards on Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest!

Wishing you all a very safe, happy and healthy "Thanksgiving" week -- please be well - travel safely and have a wonderful time creating new memories with your family and friends!      And for those of you who are not celebrating "Thanksgiving" this week -- I wish you a very "Happy Fall" and hope you are enjoying this festive season!    Before you know it Christmas will be here -- it's hard to believe it's only a month and 2 days from today!   Yikes!  I need to get shopping and may start tomorrow after I see my doctor!   Wish me luck!!

What a Busy Week....

...and in looking at my calendar it looks like I will be just as busy next week, especially with Thanksgiving coming up.  UGH!!

I have rushed in and out all week, I have had some fun things to do, like having my nail and hair done, but them some not so fun things, like taking my oldest dog to the Vet yesterday, (twice) for lab work to see if the poor guy has Cushing's Disease, which I do HOPE is not the case, even though it does sound like it's fairly easy to treat.  But, it means yet another med for Scoutie and I hate the idea of him having to take anymore -- not to mention the added costs!    I am now looking into purchasing Pet Insurance for both the girls, so if they ever do become ill or get hurt, it won't be so pricey to have them treated.  I love Scout so much, but admit, paying for all his visits, meds and tests has put a big DING into my budget lately.   Just the one test yesterday was $195..  His vet bill for this month is already up to like $1,000 and that is a lot for us.  We had to put off doing our new floor upstairs, as it was ONE or the other...the floor can wait...Scout can not...but that's still NOT easy.    Seems to me, that it is even MORE pricey for dogs to have meds and tests than humans.   We both, (Scoutie and me) as an example,  have low thyroid and both take meds...even the same med, just different doses and HIS is four times  the cost of mine and he takes less?  His blood work to detect the hypothyroidism, was also triple?  Sad, but true and I have a vet who is very cost conscious too!  And insurance is not cheap either...I love my dogs like family, but they can quickly become very expensive....and that can be heartbreaking when you want to help them be well?  Another reason that I think insurance will be vital for the girls.  We started them on a Trial plan today (free for two months), through Embrace, a company that my Vet's office uses and likes.   I hope it works out for them and also that they never have as many health issues as poor Scout.

UPDATE:   Scoutie did test positive for Cushing's Disease and has been started on new meds.  They good news is that the meds work well, but the bad news is that they are NOT cheap and will cost us about $61 each month, in addition to his other meds -- plus he will also have to have the lab work repeated at $195 to check his levels - from time to time.  I'm happy and sad.  Happy that this could really help him, and sad that he has to have more meds and another illness in his life.  I sure wish he could just have lived a nice long life, without all this added illness!   But, that's not reality, so we'll do the best we can to treat him, hope he does well and feels better soon.   I also found out that this disease is NOT curable, only treatable -- so he'll need the meds forever!   Again, another reason as to why we MUST buy insurance for the girls --- so we can treat them for any unforseen illness down the road.  I would never want to find out, they needed care that I could NOT pay?  That would be so upsetting!    Please keep him in your prayers - hope the meds work well and that they will have him here for us for a long time!

,,,,It's also hard seeing them being uncomfy, having testing done.  I was very  happy when it was over and went directly home to let him get into his snuggly bed for a nice nap.   I then gathered up "Skye and Zeva" to took them both to Petco for nail trims, something they both hate and boy was that a challenge.    They LOVE getting ready to GO in the car, but it's as if they figure out where we're going about halfway there and are NOT happy.  Luckily, I have them seat-belted in the car, because as soon as I open the door they are ready to bolt, which is a bit scary.  They also do LOVE to RUM in the big grassy field right besides our Petco and we always take time for that before we head into the store.     As soon as we get near the Groomer's door, they immediately act up.   Needless to say, I was very happy to be back home with all three and we were ALL wiped out and in bed very early last night.  It was one exhausting day for all three pups and for me!!

Today was another crazy day as I had my hair styled and then had to go back out again to my doctor to have a little "suspicious" skin thing taken off of my forehead for a biopsy.  Every day is rush, rush, rush and tomorrow is more of the same.   They are hosting a HUGE event at my LSS and it's one I want to go to, plus there is a 90 Minute Scramble, (I love them) being hosted over at the Hero Arts Flickr Group in the afternoon, and I really hope to play.   And shortly after that ends, I'll need to get ready to go out again as we are off to meet our friends  to celebrate a birthday at one of our favorite local seafood restaurants.

On Sunday, I MUST to get my DT projects done for next week and also need to work on my craft room move and organization, which sadly is STILL not done?  UGH!   I'm also halfway through a major "closet" cleaning in my old room and that is one VERY large and overstuffed closet.  It runs length of our house--so you can only imagine how much "Stuff" is in there!  We do NOT have an attic or cellar, so this is pretty much the main storage closet for the entire house.    YIKES!!   And I won't have much time for it even next week, since I finally have my "Ortho" doc appointment on Monday with even more appointments to follow.

I could go on and tell you about even MORE I have to do, but at this point, I'm sure you'll might be feeling a bit overwhelmed, like me.

So, for a nice little break, I'm finally going to share some pics of cards that I recently created and never had time to blog.   I'm started with two gorgeous cards that were inspired by a fun little class I took at my LSS on Tuesday.  The class, as it turns out was totally inspired by some recent cards that Jennifer McGuire had shared on her blog -- HERE!   We used the exact same technique and even the same stamp set "Christmas Crystals" by Hero Arts!!

I am in awe with this amazing technique that Jennifer came up with and the best part is that's is easy, fun and the results are amazing.  Love Love Love the sparkle that you achieve by coloring, using a Wink  of Stella Clear Marker much like you would use an "Aqua Brush".   A look that I am NOW loving and will be trying with a variety of colors, stamps and assorted markers.  We used Tombow Markers for these cards, but I think this will be awesome with Copics, and I also want to experiment with my newest markers, which is this set called "Chameleon" markers.  Another brand new line of alcohol based markers that I just added to my marker collection.

Pink Peace Card
This is was my first card and had me in love with the technique

And my second card, which I close to color in Teals and Purples,
two of my favorite colors.

This is a little peak at the cards that "Terri" our class teacher had created as the class samples.  I like to do my "own" thing, so took my colored images home and used my own cardstock and background papers for my cards, which only made sense, since I had also chosen different colors.

The funny thing about all this is that I follow both Jennifer and Hero Arts, and I had ironically missed out on Jennifer post on these cards.  Just my bad luck and of course the fault of "Verizon" after our darn internet was out "again" !    I also had not caught up her viewing her videos and only saw this one, 'last night" --- two days after I took the class.    Had it watched it first, or had internet when she posted, I have a feeling I would have saved myself some money and would have made these two cards, at home--especially since, I aleaday had this stamp set too!   UGH!  But--- I do LOVE my LSS and it did get me out, so that was a plus and I did have fun.   I'll also be there again tomorrow for a big SALE event that I hope will be extra fun.  I'll share more on that "after" I go and see what "prize" my "Mystery" envelope contains.

While I'm here I'm sharing a couple more cards, created and entered into challenges earlier this week.  I did manage to upload each to Flickr, to  be sure I had them entered into each challenge, but them never found time to do a blog post.  If you would like to know more about the specific challenges I played in, you'll find more details over with the pics on my Photostream!  Sorry to be so behind and late in getting these blogged.

I'll start with one my favorite, which was created based on a Sketch For You To Try over at Reverse Confetti,  It's also done in my signature colors, which I why I really love it

And them we have this card, which was created for fun and seems to be one that has received lots of very kind comments over at Flickr -- Thanks so much.   It was shared in the "Die Cut Diva's" Flickr Group and also submitted to the new Die Cut Challenge, being hosted over at the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Group.

And this too was one more that I made for fun using up some of the adorable little pre-colored images that I have in stock from Lili of the Valley!  I love these sweet little design and they are perfect to have on hand for some super cute and easy to create cards.

Time for me to sign off, hit the shower and get ready for bed.  If I am going to my LSS, I want to go fairly early since I'm sure the store will be packed and I do want to try and be back for the Scramble...we'll just see how it all works out!

Hope you are having a nice night and a much more relaxing week.  I know Thanksgiving week is busy for many, especially those who will be traveling or hosting this year.  I am very grateful that I do NOT have to cook this year and since both my boys are off with their "girls", Hubby and I would be alone, so we are going out for our dinner, which is perfect.  We do have turkey in the freezer that he brought home for work, but that can wait and we'll cook that another weekend, when Alex and Acacia can come for dinner.  Personally, it's not even close to my favorite meal, so going out and having seafood, is even better to me!

Goodnight everyone!   Sweet Dreams!

A Little About Me

Purple is my favorite color and ironically - Purple is the Awareness Ribbon color for Fibromyalgia, a chronic illness I lived with for over 18 years. In, March of 2015, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer which had spread to my brain. I am fighting hard to win this battle and determined to beat it. I have a amazing Oncology Team, along with the LOVE and SUPPORT of all my family and friends! I am a Mom to two grown sons, Alex is now 25 and married to Acacia, my wonderful new "Daughter" and the parents to my precious Grand-Daughter Harper, and Brian amazingly is 30 and now lives in San Diego. My boys are the greatest loves of my life. Hubby, me and our two "Pups", Skye and Zeva, two adorable Chiweenies we rescued in 2012, all live very happily in a tiny coastal town in Massachusetts. We lost our dear "Scoutie", a Purebred Dachshund, in April of 2015. I still miss him and will forever cherish his memory. I am an avid card-maker and totally love every minute I can spend in my craft room. It's become my passion, a wonderful way to relax and is my form or "therapy".
