Classes, Classes and MORE classes!!

I spent most of the weekend at my LSS "Absolutely Everything" where I took three amazing classes taught by Sandy Allnock.  All three were fantastic and I will update and share some pics soon.  Bear with me, as these were "learning" classes, so much of what we did in class was practice work.  I'll now put those ideas to good use and share some new cards soon.  On Saturday we worked learned a variety of wonderful Water-coloring Techniques and yesterday we worked with Copics and started a Journal page, which is a work in progress.   Stay tuned for more on all three !!

Today, I'm home and taking another fabulous class over at the Online Card Classroom this one being another awesome Watercolor class called -- Watercolor for Cardmakers -- Exploring Mediums.  I created my first card, using both new tips I learned in today's class along with some great things I learned from Sandy over the weekend.
Watercolor for Cardmakers
Exploring Mediums -- Day 1

I used "Zig" Clear Color Brush Markers for my card, LOVE them and how easily you can blend colors together. For this card I used an Aqua Brush and a Wink of Stella Marker to move the color around.  My stamps are both from Hero Arts, the flowers are from and older set, called Sew Me Flower Jewel-CL521 and the Sentiment is from a new BG/Hero Arts Set, called Good Day-CL824!

PS:  I am already LOVING the class, as well as the first Watercolor for Cardmakers class, which I took earlier this year!  Both are FABULOUS and I'll bet you won't be one bit disappointed!   If you sign up today, you won't miss a thing in the new class!!  And if you love it as much as I think you will, you'll want to be sure to then take the first class, which I have linked above.

I will NEVER forget....

.....the morning of September 11th, 2001 and I don't think many of us ever will.   I can still remember exactly where I was when the first plane hit and even the second.  I was in the Mammogram Department at my local hospital for my annual test.  I was waiting to be told my films were read, and that I was free to go...!  Then the breaking news came over the TV....like many people, I saw the building and assumed a "small" plane had somehow hit it....but as we watched and then saw the second plane hit....we knew it had to be something MUCH worse...

It was at that time, I was released and made the 10 minute drive home...by the time I got into the house and turned on the TV the third plane had hit the Pentagon...I felt sick.  Packey was at work and both the boys were in school, but ALL I wanted was for them to ALL come home!  I wanted my family together, and it was a long wait for the kids to get off the bus that afternoon.   Brian, being in High School, knew all about the events of the day and they spent much of that day in the Cafe in front on the TV.  Alex was only in the 4th Grade and the school made the decision NOT to tell the younger children and sent all the kids home with notes telling us WHY they made the decision and who to contact if we need assistance in talking to our kids.   I remember being scared when the fourth plane was "missing" and no one knew where it was....I wondered if it were near me, my kids or my Hubby.  I live only 30 miles North of Boston and learning that two of those fated planes had departed from my home airport...made it even more surreal.

I remember thinking I would NEVER fly again!  But, time did help heal that anxiety and I am grateful, otherwise, it would be so hard not being able to hop on a place,
as I do often to go and visit Brian!  I still still think about 911 every time I do fly and HOPE that there will NEVER a tragedy like it ever again???

I will NEVER ever forget ~
Bless all those who lost their lives that tragic.....

A Little About Me

My photo
Northeastern, Massachusetts, United States
Purple is my favorite color and ironically - Purple is the Awareness Ribbon color for Fibromyalgia, a chronic illness I lived with for over 18 years. In, March of 2015, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer which had spread to my brain. I am fighting hard to win this battle and determined to beat it. I have a amazing Oncology Team, along with the LOVE and SUPPORT of all my family and friends! I am a Mom to two grown sons, Alex is now 25 and married to Acacia, my wonderful new "Daughter" and the parents to my precious Grand-Daughter Harper, and Brian amazingly is 30 and now lives in San Diego. My boys are the greatest loves of my life. Hubby, me and our two "Pups", Skye and Zeva, two adorable Chiweenies we rescued in 2012, all live very happily in a tiny coastal town in Massachusetts. We lost our dear "Scoutie", a Purebred Dachshund, in April of 2015. I still miss him and will forever cherish his memory. I am an avid card-maker and totally love every minute I can spend in my craft room. It's become my passion, a wonderful way to relax and is my form or "therapy".
