If you are a card-maker and would like to donate any of your cards to OWH, it's actually quite easy to do and there are only a few simple rules to follow. You can find a wealth of information on their website HERE and a guide for cardmaking in this section HERE!
I found out about Operation Write Home, after I met, Jan Hunnicut, in an online craft group. I had admired her wonderful cards and noticed the OWH logo on her blog. I asked her for some information on how I could help out and that's when she linked me to the site. This is now my third year making cards for OWH and I also really love being a member of the Stars and Stamps Blog.

To help inspire you I am sharing some pictures of the 52 cards that I am sending off today! My total for 2011 is now at 97 cards - just three short of my yearly goal. I'm very excited to know that I'll easily meet my goal and be easily over 100 by the end of the year. Last year ended up sending out close to 200!!
I also do my very best to help out my OWH Shipper (Dixie), by having the cards all prepared and you can go HERE, so find out how to prepare your cards. I hand stamp or label the back of all my cards with the OWH Logo. I also provide an envelope for all my cards and tuck them too! If you would your own OWH stamp, please go HERE to order one. I stamp some of my back, but do find that the labels work best of any textured cards. You can find the files to print your own labels HERE!!
Once I have all my cards labeled and tucked, I then count them all and sort them by type. I them complete my Packing slip and them send them off via Priority Mail. I find using the Flat Rate Envelopes and boxes is the fastest and most cost effective way to get them out to the shippers!
Yippee! I am also so excited when I complete a package and have it ready to go. I also send along a donation (for postage) with each of my packages! It feels good to complete a task and this one, is very special to me.
Oh, and did you know that Operation Write Home is hosting a Card Marking Cruise, well it's true and I sure wish I could be going -- especially since Jennifer McGuire is going along with them and we all know how much I adore Jennifer's Classes!
