Welcome Back!!!

Happy Monday!!  Can you believe that it's Monday already and that Christmas is over?   WOW!  All the work and all that we did to get ready...and it's over with the blink of an eye.   I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that you all enjoyed spending time with your family and friends!   I am very happy and had a wonderful weekend!  I enjoy being with my family and friends and it was a joy!  I admit, I was exhausted by the time it was over, but it turned out to be worth all the work!

Right now, (Sunday evening, as I finalize this post), we are in the first few hours of a major blizzard, so I do hope this post works okay and that we do not lose power.  If all goes well, this should post automatically at 1 am on Monday morning, while I'm sound a sleep.   Sounds like we are in for a lot of snow...at least a foot and in some areas close to 2', along with gusty winds, white out conditions and the change of coastal damage at the time of High Tide!  I just want all my family to be safe and sound and as of now, they are ALL home and where they will stay until they venture out to work.  Hubby will be the first to have to leave at 5 AM and I do hope he'll get out.  If you do NOT hear much from me on Monday, it could be that we lost our power....please pray we don't!  It's just brutal without any way to cook or even have a hot cup of coffee!

Today, I am very happy to be back online and really excited to have a lot more time back in my craft room.  I'm also here to invite you to hop on over to the StampFairy Challenge Blog and join us for our brand new challenge which starts today!

Our December 27th Challenge theme is 'Celebrate'.  We want to what wonderful projects you can create to 'Celebrate' something special.   I starting working on my celebrate project just about two weeks ago and the timing for me was perfect as I needed to create a special card for my son Brian's Birthday!  I decided that I would make one card that would be for Brian, but would also work out perfect for this challenge!!

I created a celebratory Birthday card with one of the adorable 'Lenny New Year' images, that were recently added to the StampFairy Store!     I decided to create an 'Easel Card*' for my project, as I like how they can stand up and be displayed!   I added my 'Happy Birthday' Sentiment to the indisde of my card and it's a die cut, that I created with my Cricut Expression.  I used the same Silver/Gray cardstock to match the front of the card and picked a fun font!   This is the front view of my card opened in the display view.

And this is looking from the side view show the Easel Card in the open position.

And this is fully opened showing the 'Happy Birthday' Sentiment!

Isn't it fun!!!  I really enjoy making Easel Cards and they are actually very easy.  If you have never tried one, I am sharing a really good tutorial I found over at Split Coast Stampers.   It was created by Beate Johns and is very easy to follow.  If you want a larger card, you simply adjust the sizes and the scores lines, as need.  My Card is a 5 1/2 inch Square, so my top piece is 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 and my card base is 5 1/2 X 11 inches.  Scored at 5 1/2 and also at 2 3/4!   The video* I had linked to above is also from SCS and can also be found along withe the stop by step Tutorial HERE!

Four more days....

...and it will be here...CHRISTMAS!   Woohoo!   I'm getting more excited each day and very much looking forward to Christmas morning and simply having my family together.

Yesterday, was my day of chocolate making and it ended up turning out pretty well.  I had found this awesome little 'Chocolate Melting Pot' on sale at AC Moore on Black Friday and I bought it, thinking it might really help...and it sure did.  Last year I had major issues with burning and or not melting the chocolate well and it ended up being a mess!   This year, it was a breeze with the pot and the best part is that it was such a deal at $16.  I think the original price was $59.99, which is much to high, for for $16, it was worth every penny.

Here is a picture one of the platters I finished up.  I made little Christmas shaped chocolates, lollipops, chocolate covered cashews and also dipped some chocolate wafers and pretzels.  I had a combination of white, dark and milk chocolate...!  Yummy!  The hard part is staying away from it and not over indulging in chocolate!!

Today, is a lazy day for me and I'm not doing much.  We had our first snow last night and it was still snowing this morning when I first woke up, but luckily it had ended and we only ended up with about 4".  It was pretty nasty last night and there were several accidents, as the worst part of the storm was a rush hour.  Sometimes I think people forget how to drive in the snow, as it seems they are always a lot more accidents in the early winter and then people remember to slow down and take it easy.  I don't mind driving in the snow, but the ice...that's horrible and black ice is the worst.  Luckily, I don't have to go anywhere, so I can avoid it as much as possible.

I am very happy to be home and today is kind of an in between day.  I don't have anything I have to do and wanted to spend more time crafting, but I'm not feeling very motivated.  I'm just down today and feeling kind of out of it.  I did color some new images that will be used for Design Team projects and I realized I am still missing one of my Copics?  I've looked everywhere and it's simply gone and has been for about two days now?  The bummer is that it's one of my favorite reds and one that I use often!  I figured it was time to order a new one and to do it today, so hopefully, it will be here by Friday.  I buy all my Copics from iCopic and they ship super fast, so I'm very likely to have my order on Friday, which is wonderful.   Of course, I can't go and buy just one marker...no way...I had to add some other goodies to my order too.  I'm still working on buying all my refills and added some new colors today, along with some more  Xpress It coloring cardstock, which I really like.  While I was there I was reminded of their coloring chalelnge and decided to hop over to the Challenge Blog.  It's their final challenge of 2010 and I really wanted to play so, I decided to make a card to work out for this challenge and a few more!  It's a very fun and easy little 'Just Because' Card and I started by color this sweet little Digi (Angel Brad) from StampFairy.

Card Recipe
Cardstock - Orange by American Crafts
White Cardstock - XPress-It
Great Impressions - Sparkling Ice Glitter
Digi Image by StampFairy
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - In Honey

My card is also being submitted to these fun challenges and I invite everyone to stop by and play along:
And that's going to be it for now!  I think now that I have one project done, I'll going to keep coloring and HOPE I can find my missing Copic!

I have totally enjoyed creating with these wonderful images and it's been such a joy for me to now be a part of the Design Team.  I have a new card to share that I created for today's challenge and hope this will also inspire you to join us!!   This card was created with 'Winter Donny' and I picked  him, because I love his adorable mittens.   For this card I colored Donny with my Copics and then found some festive digital papers which I used to paper piece his hat and mittens.  I used my Cuttlebug to create some fun background layers and embossed them in a variety of patterns.  I think he's such a cutie and this cards sends out Warm Wishes.

I hope you'll also be sure to visit the Challenge blog and check out all the fantastic creations the DT has put together for the Challenge.   You can find all the challenge rules HERE and our challenge is open to all!!   It's so fun to see all the different projects.  I also want to THANK everyone for joining our very first challenge and my Congratulations to all the Winners!

Happy Birthday Brian!

Today I am dedicating my blog post to my son, Brian -- in celebration of his 24th Birthday!   I can hardly believe that my little boy is all grown up and has turned into such a wonderful guy!  He's been a joy since the day he was born and I love him with all my heart.

I have a few of my favorite pictures to share and this first one was taken on Christmas morning back in 1986, the year he was born.  It's always been one of my favorite pictures and he's always been my Christmas Baby and sure was the delight of that Christmas.

It's almost hard to see him with the giant Teddy Bear, but he is sleeping soundly laying on the leg of the bear.  He had on the cutest little Christmas PJ's and a sweet little matching hat.  I'll never forget the Joy of that Christmas and how lucky I was.   I'm so blessed to have two wonderful sons and love them both with all my heart.

This is another favorite that I have also loved...!  I just adored your blond girls and loved you in these cute Osh Kosh overalls...Awwwww!!!

And this is now and a sweet picture of you and Alise!

I know Alise has a very special day planned for you and I know you both are going to have a great day!  I'm so excited for you and looking forward to hearing all about the surprises tomorrow!  It was so fun to see you both yesterday and I'm so thrilled that you and Alise are so happy.  Nothing makes me happier than knowing my boys are happy!

I love you with all my heart and wish you a very
FUN and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Have a blast and enjoy every moment!!

    I LOVE YOU!!

Happy Friday!!!

Woohoo!  It's Friday and another busy, but fun day for me!!   I will be off early this morning for my nail appointment and then plan to hit a few local stores and hopefully pick up the last few gifts and stocking stuffers!   I plan to be back early and then do a bit more wrapping and then can have the weekend to relax a bit, before the baking starts!   It's hard to believe that next Friday will be Christmas Eve.

I wanted to share a special new card today along with a brand new release from StampFairy!   Gerda has created a wonderful new set of images all based on her very own kitty, name Kasi. Sadly Kasi has now gone over the the Rainbow Bridge, which makes this tribute collection.

I was so touched by knowing the story behind Kasi that I tried to very hard to color my Kasi to match a photo of Kasi that Gerda had shared with me.   My card is also my tribute her Kasi and is a card I created especially for Gerda.  It's actually now in the mail to her and I hope she will be very happy to have it.   I know Kasi was such a joy in her life and I hope the card will add to her fond memories!
Introducing the Kasi Collection!

And this is the card that I created with the Kasi with Yarn image!  I hope you'll also stop over at the blog to see all the other wonderful Kasi Cards that the Design Team as created.  They are all wonderful.

A Crafty Creative day for me!!

...Today I decided that I was going to spend as much time as I can in my craft room...simply relaxing, coloring and working on some fun new cards.  I did manage to sit and do some paperwork and pay bills this morning, but then quickly headed to my room to create.

One of the first cards I wanted to make is a Birthday card for my son, Brian, who will be turning 24 on Sunday.  I can't hardly believe how fast these 24 years have gone by, but he's always been a joy in my life.  Both my boys mean everything to me, and I love them both with all my heart!   He is my artistic child and loves to draw and also does a lot of the designs and artwork for the Pub that he manages.  He also loves playing with my Copics whenever he comes by and the ABS System too.   I try to make his card extra special and I have it started and and colored and it's now in a drying process.  I'll be sure to post it when I finish.

My next card today was created for some fun challenges and there are still so many going on.  This fun I created to inspire you all to join our current chalelnge over at Baby Bud Designs and you can find all the details on the Challenge blog HERE!  Our theme is Winter/Christmas and this is cute Christmas Card I created with two of the sweet little Baby Buds - Holly and Emmy, two of my favorites, which can both be found in Etsy Store.

This sweet little card is also being submitted to today's new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday - Challenge # 143 and the d the theme this week is 'One for the Kids'.

My next card is also a Christmas themed card and for this one I used one of my favorite little bears (Lenny), who is from StampFairy.  I would also like to invite you all to join StampFairy for our very FIRST Challenge, which you can find on our Challenge Blog HERE!!   Our theme is 'Glam it up with Glitter' and I used plenty of glitter on this card, as my snow.

This cutie is also being submitted to this week's Copic Coloring challenge over at SSC, which you can find HERE!  The Copic challenge at SSC is now being hosted by Lori Boyd and this week she picked a card by Krista, from Baby Bud, as our inspiration.   Be sure to check out Krista's wonderful Thank you blog candy too, it's full of wonderful prizes!!

My Lenny Bear card is also being submitted to this week's challenge over at the Teddy Stampers Challenge blog and their theme is 'Christmas Teddies'.

My next card was created for a brand new challenge over at SSC and this is the new weekly CAS Challenge which is also hosted by Lori Boyd.  I am very excited to be a part of this as this style of card has always been hard for me and I think it will be a good way for me to learn.   I'm also excited to tell you that Lori's daughter Hannah, has now introduced her very own line of sweet images called Bug and Roo and I used one of her new images on my very first CAS 'Clean & Simple' Card.   Our theme the week is White Out and the goal is to create card using White as your main color!

And lastly, I made my next card for FUN and it's another cute image from StampFairy and this card is all about friendship, hugs and things that make me smile.  It is also being submitted to this week's challenge at Flutter by Wednesday, who are celebrating their last challenge of 2010!

I thought it also is a nice way for me to send out a BIG HUG to all my friends and every one who has been so kind to me this past year.  Crafts are such a joy in my life and a passion I just LOVE.  As much as I hate having Fibro and all that takes away...it's also why I craft...and how card-making came into my life.  I guess you might say, its' the one good thing that Fibro brought to me.   I'm also so happy about all the wonderful new friends I have met through my crafts and you've all been so awesome.  Thank you and this card was created for you....!!

This sweet little Angel Bear 'Brad' says it all--Bear Hugs are the Best Hugs and this Hug is for you, every one who has touched my heart this year!

Brrrrrrr! I am freezing...

.....Baby's it's COLD outside is an understatement for our weather here today.....it's FREEZING with temps in the teens and a windchill of about ZERO!!!!  Brrrrrr!!   The worst part is that I had to actually go out too, but it was to have my hair cut/colored and was time!  LOL!!!

I am now back, have lit a nice fire in my Woodstove and plan to stay roasty warm inside for the next day or two!  My goal this afternoon is to CREATE and I'm very much looking forward to coloring away the afternoon in my comfy and cozy craft room.   After spending almost the entire day yesterday wrapping gifts, I am feeling like I am catching up.  I have almost all the gifts now wrapped and those that are not finished are in bags/boxes and ready to go.   I was totally wiped out when I finished and as last count I had wrapped over 30 packages!   WOW!!

It feels good to be caught up and now I can relax for a few days and recover.  My body is very achy from the cold and all that wrapping, so I'm not going to push my luck today.  It's a JOY to have a day to myself and that's my plan.

Before I head to my desk, I wanted to share a wonderful new release that StampFairy has today and these cute bears are just the perfect way to say Thank You!   I also think they will be wonderful for all types of caring cards and I know I will use them for Get Well, Friendship, and Hello cards too.   These cute little bears will brighten any day!   Here is a sneak peak of the entire set, which can can find in the store here!   If you shop now you can still buy any and all of the StampFairy stamps at 50% off during the December Sale!     Yippee!!

Wow am I tired....

...But, tired in a good way and I know that I'll likely sleep very well tonight.  Today, has been such a busy day, but I'm happy because we accomplished a lot and now have our house all decked out for the Holidays.  The only think I have to do is continue on my gift wrapping and then next will be some baking and candy making...Yum!!

It was also a fun day, because I ended up taking a break this afternoon and made a new card.  I find I just MISS my crafting too much and really wanted to spend some time in my craft room.   I choose a sweet little image from Baby Bud and started by coloring her with my Copics.  This adorable Baby Bud is Noelle and she's been one of my favorites since the day she was released.

I also used my Gypsy and Cricut to cut a variety of fun and colorful background shapes for my card and that made me feel good to be putting my toys to good use.  While I was cutting, I designed a few new mats of shapes and cut them out in a few different colors and desings for future cards.

In the end, this is my latest card and this is sweet little Baby Bud Noelle, sending out Warm Wishes to all.

I also want to invite everyone to hop on over the the Baby Bud Designs Blog and join us for our current Challenge, which is open through Friday, December 31st.

The deadline for your cards will be December 31st 2010 at 12:00 noon EST. The winner will be announced the same day, so make sure you check back so see if you are our winner.

The only rule:  USE A BABY BUD IMAGE!!!

Have fun!!!

Birthday Bear!!

...After the good news that I had won a challenge today, it inspired me to take some time (away from my gift wrapping), to work on fun card.  I had already decided I wanted to create a card for the new challenge over at Crafty Catz and their challenge this week was to create a Birthday Bear card!

I also knew that I had the perfect digi image in mind and it's a brand new little Bear I bought, just yesterday from StampFairy.  This cute little guy is Lenny and he's was designed as a New Year's bear, but I thought right away that he would also make a fun Birthday Card and that's exactly what I did with him.

I printed him out and began by coloring him with my Copics.   I think he looks like he's blowing a kiss...or thinking 'oops'....but however you look at him, he's adorable.  Once he was colored I found a cute digi sentiment and used a Spellbinder die to cut out both.  I then simply picked out some matching cardstock and paper and put together this sweet little card.

And this is another view and me again playing with Photoscape to see what fun things I can do with my photos.  LOL!

My sweet little Birthday Card is also being submitted to these fun new challenges, which are ope to ALL!!
And while I was at I decided to enter a few more challenges with one of my latest Christmas Cards. This next card also features another cute bear from StampFairy and this is one of the cards I will be mailing out on Monday morning!  I am very happy to have finished up my cards for this year and have them now all ready to GO!    Woohoo!  One more task is done!

This card is being submitted to these new challenges and again, they are open to all, so please join me, take a little break from your Holiday preparation and have some fun!!  :)

And I think that will be more than enough to keep me busy for the next hour!  I want to thank everyone for visiting my blog and to also take a moment to wish you all a wonderful Holiday Season.  May it be full of lots of Love and Special moments with friends and family!!

A Little About Me

My photo
Northeastern, Massachusetts, United States
Purple is my favorite color and ironically - Purple is the Awareness Ribbon color for Fibromyalgia, a chronic illness I lived with for over 18 years. In, March of 2015, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer which had spread to my brain. I am fighting hard to win this battle and determined to beat it. I have a amazing Oncology Team, along with the LOVE and SUPPORT of all my family and friends! I am a Mom to two grown sons, Alex is now 25 and married to Acacia, my wonderful new "Daughter" and the parents to my precious Grand-Daughter Harper, and Brian amazingly is 30 and now lives in San Diego. My boys are the greatest loves of my life. Hubby, me and our two "Pups", Skye and Zeva, two adorable Chiweenies we rescued in 2012, all live very happily in a tiny coastal town in Massachusetts. We lost our dear "Scoutie", a Purebred Dachshund, in April of 2015. I still miss him and will forever cherish his memory. I am an avid card-maker and totally love every minute I can spend in my craft room. It's become my passion, a wonderful way to relax and is my form or "therapy".
