Simon Say Stamp - Designer Spotlight!

Today, I have the wonderful honor of being in the "Designer Spotlight" over at the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge Blog!

You can't even begin to imagine the excitement and pride I felt when I was asked to take on this role for the month on May.  Not only do I love to take part in this challenge, I am also a huge fan of Simon Says Stamp and always enjoy visiting and shopping at the store.   It is with great pleasure to accept this opportunity and I'm very excited to be sharing my first card with you today as part of this week's Wednesday Challenge.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

Our Challenge Theme is "Spring Flowers", which is something I think we are love.   For me,  I'm very much looking forward to planting some new flowers and can't wait to see my garden in full bloom, especially after such a very long, snowy and bitterly cold winter!!

I'm also very pleased to be showcasing some of my favorite SSS products and I'm starting with one of my favorite new "Penny Black" Stamps, which is from the brand new 2014 Spring line.   This is one of the extra large cling stamps, called "Softly", which I absolutely love and bet that you will too.

To create this card, I started by inking up my stamp with Black Memento Ink and stamped it directly onto a piece of Simon's Ultra Thick 120# Cardstock, which I must say is one of my favorite cardstocks. It's super strong, has a wonderful quality and is also perfect for coloring with Copic Markers, and that's exactly what I used to color with today.    Once I had my image all colored, I layered on some sparkle with a clear "Wink of Stella" Marker.   My "Happy Birthday" sentiment was created by combining two stamps from this very cool new stamp set, by Winnie and Walter.   The last step was to trim my card down and layer it onto some matching cardstock.  I then tied on some teal twine and finished it off some very sparkly "Free Spirit" Crystals by Prima.

This photo shows the wonderful shimmer of sparkle
that is added by those amazing Wink of Stella Markers.

I absolutely adore this stamp, which I'm sure you know if you follow my blog on a regular basis.  It's been one that I've used over and over and think the design is fabulous.   I also own the matching Stencil, which is called Promenade!    I hope I have inspired you to join the challenge and/or hit the store to do some shopping.  Be sure to add your card over at the Challenge Blog for your change to win a $50 Gift Card to Simon Says Stamp.   I was a lucky winner not too long ago and it certainly was extra nice to have $50 to shop with!

P.S.   I'll be back tomorrow with a brand new post and have new cards and projects to share from Day 2 and Day 3 of the fantastic Watercolor for Card-Makers class, which I am absolutely LOVING!!    See your tomorrow and special thanks again to SSS for inviting me to join their very talented DT for the month of May!!

A Little About Me

My photo
Northeastern, Massachusetts, United States
Purple is my favorite color and ironically - Purple is the Awareness Ribbon color for Fibromyalgia, a chronic illness I lived with for over 18 years. In, March of 2015, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer which had spread to my brain. I am fighting hard to win this battle and determined to beat it. I have a amazing Oncology Team, along with the LOVE and SUPPORT of all my family and friends! I am a Mom to two grown sons, Alex is now 25 and married to Acacia, my wonderful new "Daughter" and the parents to my precious Grand-Daughter Harper, and Brian amazingly is 30 and now lives in San Diego. My boys are the greatest loves of my life. Hubby, me and our two "Pups", Skye and Zeva, two adorable Chiweenies we rescued in 2012, all live very happily in a tiny coastal town in Massachusetts. We lost our dear "Scoutie", a Purebred Dachshund, in April of 2015. I still miss him and will forever cherish his memory. I am an avid card-maker and totally love every minute I can spend in my craft room. It's become my passion, a wonderful way to relax and is my form or "therapy".
