Sunny Saturday...

It's a joy to see the sun shining and I'm very thankful that we have not had any rain or storms since the Tornadoes came through.  I really hope it will help out those who are struggling to make any repairs that they can to the homes and also help restore power to all those without it.   My heart is still with all those who suffered though such a tragic experience.  I'm hopeful the sunny weather will help them have more time to work and somehow get back to some type of normalcy in their lives.

Today, I slept in and then did my typical morning chores and now I'm back in my craft room and have been working on a few new challenges cards.  My first card today was inspired by the latest Copic Coloring Challenge over at SSC.  Our theme this week is Buttons and Bows and my card features a cute little digi by Lori Boyd.   The is one of Lori's adorable Spoonfuls and this one is named Dottie.  You can find her in the store HERE!!

In addition to the new challenge at SSC, my card is also being submitted to these fun challenges:
My next card today is another challenge card and this one was created based on the inspiration of a few different challenges.   I started by choosing my colors based on one of the challenges and then picked out one of my newer Bugaboo images, since I knew this would also be posted to their challenge.  In the end, I decided to use a combination of techniques and Paper-Pieced and colored my image with Copics.  I then used my Grand Calibur to cut two large scalloped ovals and layered everything together to make this cute card.

This card was really fun and easy to make and the best part is that with Paper-Piecing, you can add more design and text to your images.  The digi papers I used for this card all came from Shery K Designs and were all in this set, which is one of my favorites.

I hope you'll join me and make your own card that you can also use to join any of these new challenges:
And now I am off to go over an play for awhile at Pinterest!   Have you heard of it or are you a member yet?  It's a really cool site where you have your own virtual 'pin boards' and you can pin on any pictures you choose.    You can search around for other cool pics on the site and re-pin them to your board or you can upload your own pictures !    I first found out about it seeing it mentioned on Facebook.  It's very cool and some of the pictures are amazing--perfect for inspiration and other wonderful ideas!    Warning -- it is addictive -- but also a lot of fun!

A Little About Me

My photo
Northeastern, Massachusetts, United States
Purple is my favorite color and ironically - Purple is the Awareness Ribbon color for Fibromyalgia, a chronic illness I lived with for over 18 years. In, March of 2015, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer which had spread to my brain. I am fighting hard to win this battle and determined to beat it. I have a amazing Oncology Team, along with the LOVE and SUPPORT of all my family and friends! I am a Mom to two grown sons, Alex is now 25 and married to Acacia, my wonderful new "Daughter" and the parents to my precious Grand-Daughter Harper, and Brian amazingly is 30 and now lives in San Diego. My boys are the greatest loves of my life. Hubby, me and our two "Pups", Skye and Zeva, two adorable Chiweenies we rescued in 2012, all live very happily in a tiny coastal town in Massachusetts. We lost our dear "Scoutie", a Purebred Dachshund, in April of 2015. I still miss him and will forever cherish his memory. I am an avid card-maker and totally love every minute I can spend in my craft room. It's become my passion, a wonderful way to relax and is my form or "therapy".
