Another Fabulous Friday....

And what a gorgeous day it is here, after quite a nasty rainstorm last night, the weather is totally changed and it definitely has a feeling of Fall.   Luckily, it's very sunny and the sun warms things up very quickly.  They said it will go down into the 50's tonight and that's the best sleeping weather....Love IT!!

Today, I am sharing another update of the newest 'Hearts' I have created for the next row on my Inspiration Canvas.  I am loving this class very much and highly recommend it to all.   Even though the Inspiration Showcase is currently not open to new students, it will be after we finish the class, for those who missed out.   It will have all the same videos and PDF files, but everything will be there from day one and there will not be any forum, prizes or comments, like we have in the Live Class!   You can also sign up and take the Summer Card Camp now too, in this same type of format!!    I LOVE both and I now have 'forever' access to both classes, which is a wonderful bonus.  For all the details on either class you can visit the Online Classroom site HERE!!   I think Jennifer and Kristina have done a great job with both classes and I know I'll go back again for more!!

Today, we are working on hearts for row three of our Canvas and this row is all done with a variety of awesome techniques you can achieve using Ranger Distress Inks along with Distress Stains.   Luckily, I now own all the colors of the Distress Inks and slowly bought them all, when they would be on sale.  I don't have all the colors of the Stains, but that's another collection, I am continuing to build.   I do have all the re-inkers for my Distress Inks now too and I really love them.

I have to admit, if I have not taken this class, along with others at my LSS, plus a workshop with Tim Holtz - I never would have known about how awesome and unique these inks are.  They are unlike any other ink on the market, making them a great investment.   I love they way they react with water/liquid and love the awesome variety of techniques you can do with them!!   I am especially excited about the new Limited Edition Seasonal Set and thirlled that I have mine on pre-order!  That new Purple shad was calling my name and I would LOVE to buy a second or third set, simply for the purple!!!  Luckily,  I ordered the very first day, and from what I'm hearing they are already almost impossible to find.

I have now completed my next row and these are some photos of the row, with a few close-ups of my favorites -

I also created a fun card today which combines two different techniques that we learned in class.  That's the extra bonus of this class, is the bonus cards and projects that are also included!   I love that everyone is outlined so well and there are also very detailed instructions for each technique.  We also have the video and it makes it so easy to follow along!

I am submitted this card to these fun new challenges:

This was such a fun card to make and all the papers/backgrounds were created using one of the new Distress Ink techniques we used on our hearts today.   Some techniques work best with Watercolor paper and others work out perfect with plain white cardstock.  We've also used Glossy Paper which gives a totally different look with some of the mediums.  This card also features both Heat and Dry Embossing.  The flower stamped in Versamark, then heat embossed in white powder on Watercolor Paper.   I then used a combination of Distress Inks and Perfect Pearls Mist to color it.   Once it was dry I cut it out, then cut two leaves from scrap paper and layered this flower on top of a plain white daisy flower and added a fun felt/bling center.  The bottom section of the card was colored with Distress inks, then stamped off with water and embossed in my Cuttlebug for more texture.

I have a second card to work on and also created quite a good supply of background papers and more flowers for future use.  As I work with each new technique, I repeat it several time, with different colors etc., so that I can save the various elements to use on future cards!   I'm off now to finish my second card and also do some organizing in my room - the mess on my desk is a bit out of control, so it's time for a little cleaning!!  I have papers and inks every where, but it's FUN!!

Hoping you are also have a fantastic Friday and that everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

A Little About Me

My photo
Northeastern, Massachusetts, United States
Purple is my favorite color and ironically - Purple is the Awareness Ribbon color for Fibromyalgia, a chronic illness I lived with for over 18 years. In, March of 2015, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer which had spread to my brain. I am fighting hard to win this battle and determined to beat it. I have a amazing Oncology Team, along with the LOVE and SUPPORT of all my family and friends! I am a Mom to two grown sons, Alex is now 25 and married to Acacia, my wonderful new "Daughter" and the parents to my precious Grand-Daughter Harper, and Brian amazingly is 30 and now lives in San Diego. My boys are the greatest loves of my life. Hubby, me and our two "Pups", Skye and Zeva, two adorable Chiweenies we rescued in 2012, all live very happily in a tiny coastal town in Massachusetts. We lost our dear "Scoutie", a Purebred Dachshund, in April of 2015. I still miss him and will forever cherish his memory. I am an avid card-maker and totally love every minute I can spend in my craft room. It's become my passion, a wonderful way to relax and is my form or "therapy".
