This is now the third class I've taken from Jennifer and it ROCKS!! She is an amazing teaching and the details that she provides in her videos and class PDF files is fabulous. I have taken several classes online and at my LSS in the past couple of years, and these are by far some of the best ever!
This particular class is a technique workshop and today we focus on a variety of fantastic Ink Resist techniques. I'm not going to share all the details, but I can say that if you ever have a chance to take this class down the road, I know you will be very pleased and I can say that one DAY one without any doubt.
Not only are we making a wonderful canvas, but each day we also are provided with ideas and tips for making cards using the techniques we learned. Today, I am sharing some of the hearts I created for my canvas. Note: I will be adding embellishments to each and will mount them all on my Canvas at the end of class, but did want to share some with you now.
This first picture shows an example of the hearts that I created today and I used each of the techniques that we were taught. I actually made several more and will use them for cards and other projects. The hearts alone make really nice cards and you can use any colors you choose. When I created my first canvas (at my LSS) I make it pretty much the same as Jennifer's, but for my new canvas, I'm going to a Lavender, Pink and white Theme, with a bit of light blue and aqua. I'm also hoping to make at least one card each day to share on my blog.
These next few images are close-ups of a few of my favorite hearts, where you can see a bit more of the detail.
And my next two images are two cards I created today, based on the wonderful inspiration and tips that we learned in our first session.
The second card is my favorite and I just love how the colors came together. I created that one with one of my newest Hero Arts Background Stamps (Lotus Background) and instead of using Versamark, for this technique I used Ranger Dabber Paints and I used the White/Pearl, which has a wonderful touch of Shimmer! I also used a shade of Lavender and Pink Dew Drops for this technique and love how it came out. This was done on plain white cardstock and I created a full sheet for several of the techniques, so that I could use them for future cards and also cut out my hearts for my Canvas. I know that some of the students are not using hearts and have chose to use other shapes, which I think is pretty near too. I tend to LOVE hearts, so they work perfect for me and I love the die I'm using.
I hope I have inspired you to break out your inks and stamps and try something different. I have a huge pile of new backgrounds sitting on my desk and can't wait to try some more cards!
Stop by again tomorrow and I'll share some new projects! I know this class is now closed and registration ended last week, but I also know that Jennifer is working along with Kristina Werner to put together a fabulous Holiday Card Class that will be coming up in November and you can bet I'll be there. I also great admire Kristina and followed along with her 'A Year in Cards' classes that she offered over at Two Pears. I also follow her blog and thing these two are are a wonderful team. I told Jennifer today that I hope she continues to grow her classroom and think it'll be a great success. Ever since I met her, back in April, I've become an even bigger fan and now I am also a HUGE fan of Hero Arts products and totally love that I had many of the same stamps she's been using in class! I'm also very thankful to those stores who shared a discount to all of use and have had a blast shopping for new things.
I'm also looking forward to seeing all the projects in the Gallery and from what I have seen so far, it's going to be jam packed full of wonderful projects. And the best part is that we can stay in the class forever, and we can back and watch the videos over and over! WOOHOO!!
