A few more cards...

I am back again with some more challenge cards and also a fun new flower technique to share.

My first card was created for this week's Stamp and Scrap challenge over at SSC.  If you are already a member, you'll find a great tutorial in this weeks' challenge on how to make an Accordion Flower, which is a requirement for this fun challenge.  You can go HERE, to see the tutorial and other challenge requirements.

I also fun two great videos on creating these fabulous flowers over on Your-Tube and your can find the first one Here!   I am sharing both for those who are not SSC members or those, (like me) who also love to watch and video and follow along to create a new project.  You can find a second video from Split Coast Stampers also on You Tube Here!

This is my first card which will be submitted to the SSC challenge.   It's really easy to make the flowers and the colors and punch options are endless.  I know it's something I will do again.

HINT:   I actually made my flower last night and in the instructions I followed, it was recommended to use Beacon 3-1 Glue, which did work well, but took quite awhile to dry.  I think the next time I make these I may use a hot glue gun, simply to make it a bit faster, or even Scor-Tape as shown in the second Your-Tube Video.   The Beacon glue holds well and does easily rub off, if you get excess on your flower, however, you will need to be patient and hold you flower for quite a bit for it to hold.

My second card was created for a brand new challenge and it's the Digistamps for Joy Challenge, which you can find HERE.  I had found this new Digi Store a few weeks ago and already own a few of the wonderful stamps, so I was happy to join the first challenge which was an Inspiration Challenge.  This is the picture we had for our challenge -- as soon as I saw it, I could think of was stripes and bright color.

I chose to go with a Striped theme and my image is 'Cindy' who you can find HERE in the DigiStamps4Joy store.  I hope you'll join in on the fun.  You can also join the DigiStamps4Joy group over at CDAC, all the gals are really fun and it's been a pleasure to meet them.   This is my card - You are Fabulous, which I am submitting to the challenge!

I'm still working on more, but not sure I will finish up today.  If not, I'll be back tomorrow, as long as we have power and I have my internet connection.  I am very happy that the hurricane is continuing to weaken and the hurricane warnings have now been lifted for our Shore Shore too, which is fabulous news.!  :)

A Little About Me

My Photo

Purple is my favorite color and ironically - Purple is the Awareness Ribbon color for Fibromyalgia, an illness I personally live with. I had to stop working in 2006 due to Fibro and Degenerative Disc Disease. It's been a tough road at times, but I have a wonderful family and fantastic friends. I am a Mom to two awesome sons (Ages 21 and 26) and a wife and friend to a wonderful Hubby. We live in a tiny coastal community in Massachusetts and have lived here all my life. My hubby and my boys are my whole world and mean every thing to me! I cherish all three of my guys!! I am very lucky to be blessed with wonderful friends. I adore and cherish each of my friends as much as my family! I am an avid card-maker and love all types and stamping, and also love coloring with my Copics. I'm very lucky to have this whole new world on online friends that I've met through my Craft Groups. HUGS TO YOU ALL!!
