Two more for today....

    It's been a very creative day and Wednesdays, are always a fun day for me, because they are new challenges over at SSC and also the Midweek Throwdown Challenge over at the Stars and Stamps Blog.   This afternoon, I worked on making cards for both challenges and I am back to share them with you now.


    The first challenge I had started on was the Card Corner Challenge over at SSC and for this week our challenge was to create a card using pleats as an accent.  If you are not sure how to create the look of pleats, please go and view this really cool video from Blueyecycle  on You Tube.  I found her video very fun and had it in my bookmarks.  On my cards I used a combination of Scor Tape and  Zip Dry glue, which worked well.  I also used my Scor Buddy to make score marks in my paper, which made it easier to make the folds.   It's a fun technique and it used it for both of these cards.


    On this first card, I first used a new EK Success Border Punch on my paper before I made the pleats and it make it even a bit more unique.  There is so much you can do with paper and ribbon.  It's a nice look and makes it fun and easy to quickly make a card simply from paper.  This card was the once I created for the challenge at SSC.

   The butterflies were created my Martha Stewart punch and I added a bit of Blue Distress Stickles to give them the look of a body.  

    My second card was created for today's Midweek Throwdown Challenge over at the Stars and Stamps blog.  It is a "'Thank You' card with a Fall theme.  I also used the pleat technique on this card to add a bit of dimension and a third color!  This card was created for a friend, so I did use some Glitter cardstock from a DCWV Stack  However, when creating cards to send off to OWH, I never use glitter!  It's best for our troops that there is no chance of any glitter flaking off of any OWH cards! 

   This turned out to be a very pretty card and the colors all worked out very well.  I think it's a style I will create again.   And now, I'm off to 'create' something for dinner!
